Hi All,
About 18 months ago after a chance discussion over email the Bandit and I set out on an epic journey to build a website like no other.
As someone who builds eCommerce websites for a living, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to create something completely bespoke, community led and just a bit more fun than the average website. All other gambling websites are just a bit boring aren’t they!??
After a few discussions containing some VERY BIG ideas I set to work on backinamo.com
For those interested in web development I used only a simple bootstrap WordPress theme and hand coded the rest.
I wanted this site to feel like it it was one entity and built for purpose. Every page and feature should just work and work together. One account to rule them all!
Anyway.. 9 months later on the 11th February 2018 we put the website live!! Boom!! 🙂
Shortly after launch I integrated a forum, finally giving Bandit fans somewhere to congregate and chat.
Super pleased with how well the forum continues to thrive.
Whilst the launch was smooth(ish), we have had challenges in backinamo.com’s short life on the web.
These include but are not limited to; server overloads, hackers and of course video service shutdowns!! ARGGHHH! Thanks YouTube!
I have now integrated 3 video services which has definitely kept me on my toes but we are all hoping that things will calm down now so we can all just get back to watching the Bandit’s videos.
All that remains for me to say is a massive thank you to everyone that continues to supports The Bandit and this website.
An incredible amount of work has gone into this project so it’s humbling to see so many people actively signing up and using it on a daily basis.
I do not think either me or the Bandit ever imagined it would reach the kind of numbers it has. Truly astonishing.
A last thank you to Steve of course who is just a really top bloke and has been a joy to work alongside.
I look forward to the new year and more of his crazy ideas for the site and beyond. If he can think it.. I can build it!!?
