Hi all,
As some of.you might know I recently paid off all my debts and got myself straight after getting myself into shit a few years ago.
Started a new job recently and on my lunch decide to nip into Ladbrokes. Fuck knows why. Not stepped foot in a bookies for years. For some reason decide to have a quick spin on a fobt and end up 300 down in about 4 minutes. Head fell off so go cash machine and come back with another 300 and that goes just as quick. Fucking idiot.
Decide on the way back to work to get more money out and nip into betfred. Wanted to do 100quid roulette spins but apparently it’s 50quid max without some sort of code (fuck knows when that came in). My first 50 landed perfectly and ended up spinning up to 815. Thought fuck it will play the 15 off on Napoleon, hit a bonus and it goes for 150x (300).
Quickly cash out and the fella behind the counter asks if there’s anything else I need – I say yes I’m self excluding and he said no problem in the nicest possible way here’s your money don’t come back. Off to the bank to put the 600 back in I originally took out
Lucky escape but I am pissed at myself for slipping. Forgot how dangerous those fobts are.

Please don’t ever slip back into it and kid yourself that this will happen again, just enjoy the winnings and Christmas ??
118th December 2018 at 3:31 pm #29347That’s my plan to be honest mate. Forgot how easy it is to get sucked back into these machines. What you say about being 1k down has been on my mind most of the afternoon to be fair and I know exactly where your coming from

18th December 2018 at 3:39 pm #29352I know mate I agree completely. Would have been better off in the casino. Just one of them stupid slips that gamblers have.

Honestly mate it’d have been the biggest kick in the balls, nothing worse than chasing a loss and the win never comes.
I’ve done it before but in a much, much smaller scale (maybe £100?) but I remember afterwards thinking what a fucking fool.
Part of the reason why I watch the bandit, only deposit a tenner now and again, but I’m more than likely going to just deactivate all my accounts because the chances of losing £100 far outweigh the chances of winning it!

I honestly couldn’t agree more mate. I’ve been gambling free for years. Doesn’t help (Not that it’s an excuse) but my new office is literally surrounded by bookies. Betfred, Ladbrokes, William hill, another Ladbrokes. I wonder how many of them will still be open when the limits change……
18th December 2018 at 4:17 pm #29360I haven’t been in a bookies since March I found a company that you can send a photo of your self to and then using them can self exclude from every booking in your area.
I self excluded from about 50+ good thing is if you are visiting another town or city you can then request that your picture is sent to every bookies in that area also. Its been a massive help to meaking me stop.
The shame of someone saying excuse me your not supposed to be in here has helped.
Before that I found if I slipped and nipped into a bookies I wasn’t excluded from and won on the fobts. All my time is then taken up trying to win more seeking other fobts I can play until I’m skint.
Either way, when using them I either busted out every bit of money I had. Or won a bit then got greedy thinking I want more and eventually that week busted out for all the money I had.
Proper evil things
I used to think they would hypnotise me in to losing all my money because nothing else has ever made me carry on playing until I had nothing left. 1000s of times
This is who I used
18th December 2018 at 8:38 pm #29413Self exclude yourself till April next year mate then visit your local bookies and compliment them how nice their paperweights are looking.. It would then be madness to gamble the max £2 a spin for a £500 jackpot when you could win megabig online with the same stake, if you then discovered that you had a problem with online gambling then Gamstop could take all those worries away from you.
Take Care.
