I stopped gambling three years ago and have not looked back. I self excluded from everywere, online and high street, did a spot of counciling, all happy days. Last Saturday i checked my credit report only to find that bloody my green had performed a soft check on me. Of course its not the end of the world, but when my wife sees it, she will worry that the bad old days have returned. I have contacted there customer service team, but as with all these things they just brushed it under the rug, and are ignoring me. Anyway, i personal think this is bad form and should not happen. Any advise on this would this help. Cheers bandit lovers.

Credit checked by a casino? What the fuck? Did you at any point agree to this before the time they did it? How long ago was it done?
I see absolutely no reason why a casino should credit check you. That’s the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard of. You should sue.

If I recall correctly, and I could be wrong here, a lot of the bigger casinos – sky, Ladbroke etc do this so you don’t need to send in additional verification.

It’s kinda fucked up if you need credit though. Surely several institutions will deny you credit if they see a gambling company has credit checked you, right?
19th June 2019 at 4:42 pm #70594I believe these are soft credit checks, and therefore aren’t visible to other companies. Really not much of an issue at all, although I can appreciate from the OP’s point of view why it could be harmful to him personally and his relationship.

None that I’ve come across. I’ve never had issues with loans, credit cards or mortgage.
19th June 2019 at 5:38 pm #70607Ah, well then I suppose it’s just the wife thing that’s the problem. Would suck if it affected your credit rating.
19th June 2019 at 5:45 pm #70581In reality it saves shit ton of ballache compared to the Malta based crowd. Also a soft check doesn’t effect anything and wont show the casino your credit score just identity information. If you are happy to send passports, scan cards, driving license etc i dont see what the issue is.
19th June 2019 at 6:33 pm #70620I think the big issue here is he self excluded himself, so shouldn’t be doing any background checks on him. I would get in contact with mr green and ask them why they’ve done it.
19th June 2019 at 8:59 pm #70684Its just a verification of age and that your actually exist, doesn’t affect credit rating, I’ve just remortgaged and had to provide full credit report print out, it had loads of casino identity checks on it (though some just use their group name so don’t seem lie casino checks, MT Secure etc) and still got the mortgage.
It’s much the same as when using price comparison website for insurance, suddenly loads of companies appear on my report (I pay for credit expert each Month).
It is weird that they did it when self excluded though, normally only done on signup to a new casino!
