I started playing at Mr Play last year, think they had a decent sign-up bonus or something.
Anyway I tried to withdraw £500 from my account and they asked for proof of passport and card details. I sent them my passport and a copy of my current debit card.
Since I had signed up and registered my bank Barclays had sent me a new debit card. I didn’t at the time think anything of it and destroyed the old card and starting using the new one.
Mr Play have asked for proof of my old card, I asked the Bank and they were unhelpful and said they could only give me statements. None of the statements actually give any card details.
The new card is exactly the same account and sort code as the last one but this is not good enough!
I’m not sure what to do next?

18th January 2019 at 4:24 pm #40050Hi @JohnnyO
I have had an issue with this in the past where certain casinos are unhappy paying out to another deposit method.
Your old card always remains connected and registered to the associated bank account, so even if a payment is processed to your old card this will still find its way to the same bank account that was connected to it. I have done this with both RBS and Barclays and can confirm this works. That’s if they are happy paying out to the old card of course.. 🙂

I tried this, I have spoken to the online chat and spoken to them over the phone. They are saying they want proof of the card but I don’t seem to be able to get it.

Yes it wouldn’t be a problem paying it to the old card but they won’t pay it to the old card as they say I’ve no proof, which is bloody ridiculous when the new card has all the same details.

I have submitted a bank statement to them showing payments to them but my statements show my name, account number etc but the statements just show card payment it doesn’t give the card details.
2nd February 2019 at 6:41 am #45625I finally got my money back from Mr Play a month later. I ended up going to the bank and getting a freedom of information report to show they had sent me a new card. Anyway I had thought the money was going to be a write off so happy to have got my own money back!

2nd February 2019 at 9:06 am #45632Mr Play is no doubt one of the “scummiest” casinos out there, they are cowboys. Friend of mine got bumped out of £97 last year as she couldn’t provide them with a RIB number ( doesn’t exist in UK ), they requested IBAN instead, CC Statement didn’t show IBAN so the bank sent a separate letter with IBAN number linking it to her account and address, Mr Play didn’t accept this as the letter only showed last 4 digits of card as they couldn’t print full number down to data protection. My friend eventually gave up.
Don’t take a chance with these thieves.
