I’d like to start by saying I do not hate Bandit, I actually quite enjoy your videos for the most part. The only exception being the times you talk about problem gambling, most recent example being at the start of your recent video. I do not think the Bandit has a gambling problem, but I had one, and it was severe, so I do feel like I can make a point on the matter. The problem I have with your view is:

    1. Being able to afford the money you spend on gambling does not mean you cannot be a gambling addict. Not every problem gambler goes to financial ruin from their gambling. A person can be financially able to spend 5 grand a day on slots, but still be a problem gambler. Being a problem gambler has more to do with the way you play, meaning how often you play, do you constantly chase losses, does your gambling affect your normal life in a negative way etc. It is true that many gambling addicts are in debt and broke, but that is not what makes someone a problem gambler

    2. You talked about the changes in slot play that have been made to discourage problem gambling, such as removing the option to quick spin and removing bonus buys. Your view is that it harms the majority of the player base that are not problem gamblers, which is partially true. What you need to understand that the changes that inconvinience you might actually save a life of a problem gambler. A recent Canadian study found that around 33% percent of gambling addicts have contemplated suicide at one point. This may sound like a far fetched point to make, but any changes made to slot play that can make a difference in the amount of gambling addicts is a reasonable price to pay, even if it inconvinieces you.

I’d like to reiterate that I dont think the Bandit is a bad guy nor is he a gambling addict, I just think that when it comes to gambling addiction he is wrong in some areas. I apologise for any grammatical errors, English is not my first language.

I liked reading your point of view on problem gambling, it was interesting and you stated very valid points. Whenever I hear him say not to gamble what you can’t afford, I gather he means not only money wise but mentally as well. The quick spins and bonus buys I thought that was in regards to casino’s asking for extra checks such as Source of wealth? And there should be an incentive for players to complete this? I’ll have to watch again however rest assured the Bandit is a good guy and I remember when he paid for Gamban memberships for his followers who were were having problems.

Yes you are correct, he was talking about the Source of Wealth thing regarding quickspins and bonus buys. As far as I know (I might be wrong) source of wealth is mostly used to check that the money deposited has been aquired with legal means, not that it has to prove you are in a financial position to play the way you play.

I don’t think Bandit is a bad guy at all, and this post was not made to make him seem like one. I think Bandit is one of the realest slot player Youtubers in the platform.

In regards to the loot boxes in fifas case the player packs. That ruling will be overturned as as long as it is still legal to sell trading card footy stickers surprise toy bags like the hatchimels thingies my daughter buys loads of you cannot rule that it is any different.

There is more in place also to make it harder for kids to get fifa points to buy cards then there is for them to walk into a shop and buy the above mentioned over a counter. You have to buy things on either pc playstation or xbox etc with a bank card in most cases that would be the parents card being on the system so where does the blame there go..

As a parent I don’t stop my lil girl buying them surprise toy things yet she essentially is taking a risk that she will not get the ones she needs with her pocket money and they are £5 a go.. I collected stickers and footy cards as a kid as did around 70% other lads or gals my age would have and I don’t think that they all would now gamble in any shape or form.

Long short as a parent you need to be responsible for your child and of you let your kids have full access to use a card on their chosen device/console with no pin or password to protect it you are at fault as someone who doesn’t put filters on your kids tablet so they can only access things for there age group.

Maybe harsh but still very true.

    Pegi rate as gambling

So a independent company (pegi) rates a game as 18+ and its displayed on the box ??

So if kids are getting on fifa who bought it for them it wasn’t a fairy it was most likely a parent.

Is it the games fault that parents are not adearing to this age rating. ?

And now as I said earlier need to remove anything from kids that involves cash and chance..

    Footy cards

    Footy stickers

Collectable toys in blind bag/boxes etc.

They are all the same thing.

I totally agree, also loot boxes don’t currently count as gambling. The house of lords believe it should be considered gambling. You will probably see it introduced next year I would imagine. This then being law as ‘gambling’ the ukgc will be able to restrict this usage. They can’t do it at the moment because legally it isn’t gambling.
