    Hi all,

I was doing a £10 to £1000 challenge the other day abd we were on like Bet 4 abd there was a match for a goal to be scored in the first half of the Bayer Leverkusen match.

The returns from the bet would have been £51.85 abd fortunately a goal was scored and 365 gave me a cash out of £51.86 which I took immediately. The issue arises from the fact that the goal was thrn disallowed by VAR but I had the funds on my account and no further goal was scored.

i then place my next bet which won over £100 and Bet365 then remove £51.86 from my account.

<span style=”font-size: 1rem;”>i immediately went on live chat and they explained that due to the cash out being higher then the actual winnable amount (albeit by a penny) this cash out was void and the bet would be settled on the actual outcome meaning that the bet had lost.</span>

However, my argument is that it’s not my fault the site offered me a cash out and I thought I was wise in taking this to ensure the funds were immediately in my account (I hadn’t even considered the possibility of VAR) but 365 are adamant that the payout would be void.

They sent me some wording on this abd said it would revert to the actual settled amount which in my eyes should be the £51.85 and not nil as I had made the personal choice the cash out once I had seen the option.

I know it’s almost impossible to win an argument with these casinos but I would like a few opinions on whether I should take this further or will it just be a waste of my time?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

Happened to me several times, I always click cashout so funds can be rolled onto the next bet.

I once hit cashout for £160 then the goal was disallowed, went onto slots to waste money knowing they were gonna take it back, in the hope of hitting something big. I lost it all and the account was in debit. Previously when I had been in debit I stopped playing for a few days and they eventually put balance back to 0 as a ‘gesture of good will’. This time it took 2 months, they then did ‘gesture of good will’ thing just before the World Cup, I was chuffed as got away with not having to pay back £160 but they won really as I was the mug who went back to losing loads on Footie bets again!

If your bet went to lose then they are well within their rights to take it back, at least you could roll something onto next bet and take some profit, they could’ve voided that as well.

I’m baffled as to how they can take it back

Cashing out a bet makes the result irrelevant that’s the whole point of it, you cashed out so the money is surely yours

I think the casinos right .. ( and I know nothing about cash outs ) but if someone scores and it’s questionable…. doesn’t the debate happen straight away … the game stops straight away, so when you cash out your aware the score is being looked into by the ref ????So are you chancing your arm knowing it can go against you before var can officially decide ????

I’m in agreement with Seyahkram here. You didn’t win and any payment was made in error. If they had taken money from you under similar “mistaken” conditions you would be demanding it back, and rightly so.

the casino made the error of providing an opportunity of full cash out as soon as the goal was scored, that’s simply a mistake they have to deal with in my opinion. If a goal is scored why would they not suspend the cash out until var is complete? I don’t see why they should be able to take money out of the account just because they made a mistake in offering that cash out presuming the goal would stand? Cash out is there to tempt punters to take their money and run when you are happy with the amount offered, that’s simply all the guy has done here but now they’re demanding it back because they screwed up??

the immediate cash out figure is based on the score being allowed. not the VAR decision which can take a few minutes

Many thanks fir all your responses to this, I have effectively given up as knew there was no point fighting this as they just continually revert to the small print of being offered an erroneous amount. Does raise the question though they had I been offered the correct figure if £51.85 (abd not £51.86) whether I would have kept the money? Also, I wonder if that’s something 365 have built into their systems due to VAR knowing that if people do cash out fir 1p more and the goal is disallowed then they can recoup their losses? They all have us bent over really don’t they! ?

For as long as i can remember bet365 have always given cash out options to winning bets of 1p over (such as all games in on a BTTS bet the cash out for the remainder of the game will be 1p higher than the returns of the bet.) Ive not had a bet365 account now for about 4 years but when i did it was even the same back then. I was always told it was to speed up the process as they then dont have to settle the bets when youve chosen to cash out, but after this maybe it is just so they can cover their backs in the event of a mistake. The fact they offered 1p more doesnt surprise me as like i say theyve done that for winning bets for a long time, its how they can use that to get them out of their own errors which is wrong.
