In my little town and I mean little, there are 4 bookies within half a mile of each other including 2 with the same brand name.
The only thing that can be keeping them going is the FOBTs, which will die a terminal death on 1 Apr I suspect. I have seen many people doing £50 and £100 spins on roulette and losing thousands, but most of the slot players are on 20p or a £1
I was surprised therefore to see one of them recruiting, I read somewhere recently that it is likely the bookies will try to outlast each other in towns with small independents going to the wall.
Personally it looks like a shitty job to me with shitty hours, but would anyone here actually apply for a job in a bookies at this time
