29th April 2019 at 5:23 am #63220Shit say debate enough times and it sounds weird. Debate.
Could be worse – you could be saying mass debate 🙂
29th April 2019 at 5:43 am #63221Casinos are not there for entertainment. I’ve been thinking about this and i strongly believe these high volatile games are almost impossible to play for entertainment purposes. These games can still take up to £100 pound an hour on as little as 20p stake. So tell me who can afford to lose £100 pounds an hour cos i can’t. I’m beginning to believe there is no possible way to play a slot for entertainment without risking a decent amount of money unless your prepared to play for about 5 mins and that’s hardly entertaining. Roulette is worse as i class the game as the quickest way to win and lose in gambling. Entertaining gambling is putting a £5 acca on that gives you 90 minutes of fun or a 50p lucky 15 or a £1 placepot. Playing slots is impossible to play for entertainment without the risk of losing a substantial amount of money and that is exactly why people ended up doing their balls in. Why because they lose so fast and they feel they haven’t had their fix of game time so they re deposit and again until they get into chase mode and been tilted. These games are now designed to do that. The quicker we lose the more likelihood we will put more money in. The designers of these games are very clever and they know what makes us tick.I coun’t agree more Haz, and what you highlight here has been highlighted so many times on the forum, and is of immeasurable benefit. For people like myself who don’t gamble online the stories here are persistent reinforcement of why that is a good choice.
So many stories of people putting £500 and upwards in and losing it in an hour without a solitary bonus – you can get an overseas weekend break for that and come back happy, instead of an hour in front of a screen with the gut wrenching feeling that you shouldn’t have done that at the end.
As you say, the casino’s know what makes you tick, this is why we have this endless stream of megaways, which enable you to pump in £100’s at 20p stake because you just know the big hit that streamer got is going to happen to you. And then you are so deep in that you have to continue to get that money you couldn’t afford to lose back, or because you have let it become personal
Entertainment is 100’s of movies online for £6.99 a month, not £500 in an hour watching reels spin on a computer 🙂
But each to their own – its a big world and we are not all the same.

If you saw geezawin post on dead or alive 2 thread that is exactly the way i think they are. So ironic he posted that not long after mine on here.
29th April 2019 at 9:11 am #63240Eejit : If calling you a muppet us a crime or against the “rules” to you then you have deeper issues.
I could respond to this, but
Eejit : But still… sorry if I hurt your feelings.
Is not exactly drowning in sincerity.
Depends what tone you read it with. If i say this out loud you hug me. If you read it sarcastically you wont.
Haz i agree, but for someone people speed is fun. I go through stages of wanting to play novo for 4 hours, or wanting 30 mintues on chilli. Its catering for all types now. IT may not be fun for some, but the choice is there.
29th April 2019 at 9:17 am #63241Honestly, what use are you to a problem gambler if you don’t give a shit about them ? No point you being in the debate.Ah I see your problem, you think I work for the Samaritans. Yep it’s a shame when a problem gambler committs suicide, but I don’t cry crocodile tears over them. People die of starvation all over the world, they die from warfare and disease etc etc, all problems outside of their control
So please don’t ask me to waste my time worrying about some guy who has decided to wallow in self pity and end it all, that was his personal choice, he decided not to man up and take responsibilities for his own actions and deal with his shit. The tired old “they’ll be sorry when I’m gone”
Newsflash to all those thinking of suicide due to gambling – “They” wont be sorry when you are gone, within a couple of months only your immediate family will even remember you even existed, they are the ones who suffer, the ones will will have to deal with the aftermath of your shit, and the ones I feel sorry for.
You go on to claim you really care about the loved ones of a suicide, yet you sold them the rope. You’ve hypothesized yourself into a hypocritical stance.

No, I read it for exactly what it was.
29th April 2019 at 10:13 am #631241) people kill themselves, lose their homes and their family over gambling addiction. Whether it’s as bad as class a drugs idk but you can’t recover from being dead so as this is one outcome of gambling I’d say its right up there.
2) as dune said and many others including myself have said in the past, they are in the business of taking your money away, caring isn’t very high in their agenda but let’s look at it this way – you and a friend bet £10 on an arbitrary outcome and you win, do you feel bad winning? Should you? You both knew the rules of the bet and the risk you were taking. Casinos operate within the same rules.
3) I think they should demand kyc upfront and immediately lock withdrawls, they also shouldn’t accept credit card deposits. Other than that what can they do? I guess they could limit the bet size but that would upset people who feel they are in control. Do we aim everything at the lowest common denominator? Just because jenny drinks 5 pints and stabs her bf to death does that mean no one should be allowed more than 4 pints on a night out? I’m not trying to be glib… Just it’s a difficult thing to regulate.
4)as the casimos won’t ban credit card deposits or force kyc before deposits are allowed the government must.
5)unfortunately if someone slips through the net they will hit the bottom and hopefully recover.
Look… I’m not a fan of casinos. I wish gamstop/care etc had existed when I had a gambling problem. These days it’s easier than ever to force yourself to stop but there’s more that needs to be done. What that is I don’t fully know other than the points listed above.
29th April 2019 at 10:14 am #63138Ejjit – ban credit card deposits. If you are using a credit card to deposit you have a problem.
29th April 2019 at 10:14 am #63148Thanks for that rbreen if you think my statement is retarded that’s absolutely fine, whenever we are given information we do what we please with it ,the world would be a boring place if we all had the same opinions and thoughts.
29th April 2019 at 10:15 am #63186You can only help someone who wants to be helped, and is willing to put in the time and effort to turn their life around.
This is a major factor in addictions treatment, and it is the reason why most addicts do not look to change until they have hit rock bottom. In my opinion the way to attack the problem is to have mental health counselling available to those who have hit rock bottom, and to advertise the dangers to those who haven’t started. Someone who is in the midst of a gambling addiction will probably not notice, not care, or not believe that they are on a path to destruction.
If the casinos really cared, they would be putting money into treatments for people who are at their very lowest, their customers who could not control themselves and gamble responsibly.
The debate should be where do we allocate current and future resources so that they do the most good, and prevention and treatment are definitely the best options in my opinion. A population that can think for itself will never stop gambling, drinking, or doing drugs, so how do we help those whose brain chemistry causes them to fall into the vortex of addiction.
29th April 2019 at 10:40 am #63260wow, I don’t know if to just start handing out bollockings on a Monday morning or just closing everyone’s account ….
so a few points…
@Rbgreen no name calling and yes calling someone a retard while not super offensive is still playground so please don’t other then that contributing to the conversation is fine.
@Mr B you instantly fucked me off in this thread the moment you told @Eejit that you didn’t even bother reading his post but claimed his views were insignificant and this treatment of someone’s OPINION on a subject is obviously going to trigger someone don’t do it.
@Haz still wins my vote for nicest guy on the forum lol 🙂
2129th April 2019 at 10:43 am #63264I second seedys vote lol haz is by far the most wholesome character here ?
