Hi all,
I’ve won a bit on an online casino and withdrawn some of it. They asked for 3 ID docs to verify account: proof of ID, proof of address and proof of debit card. I sent all those but got an email today saying that they couldn’t accept my driving license as it was provisional but everything else was accepted. So I sent my passport thinking it was all good now…
But now they have just asked me for the following:
“Regarding something else, our regulation (set by the UKGC) require that we complete advanced verification on customers that have spent a long time and/or a substantial amount of money with us and we now need to learn a little bit more about you.
This process is simple: we just require the following document:
-copy of a Bank statement showing your banking details and transactions from February 2019. Please be advised that this document is only accepted in a PDF format.”
Is that normal requirements now? Never had this asked of me before. Feels to me like they are trying to find a way not to pay me out or something! These are personal transactions don’t see why I should show them in full to a gambling company and someone I don’t know? Or know what they will do with them?
Appreciate your thoughts if you can.
Cheers,
James
13th March 2019 at 5:06 pm #54898I wouldn’t worry too much i get these types of requests quite often. Worst case scenario u send off 10+ pages of gambling transactions and they may close your account. No transactions on there can stop them from paying out
113th March 2019 at 5:13 pm #54901How much are you trying to withdraw mate? How many times have you withdrawn before and how much total withdrawn? And how long have you been depositing there?
113th March 2019 at 5:13 pm #54903It’s this sort of rubbish which has put me off the online casinos, they make you jump through hoops to get your money after a win, if they are really concerned about where you get your money from etc etc then they should ask for proof of income before you are allowed to deposit no matter how big or small your stakes will be.
i don’t particularly want these casinos snooping into my personal finances it’s none of their business.

Yeah my thoughts too! They allowed me to deposit over £5000 with zero checks of ID or banking info then ask questions later…
What really annoys me is they don’t ask for everything at the same time. Send everything they ask for then they email back with another request! Why??
I dont understand what they gonna think they gonna find in my statements. I want to keep my hot cam girls payments private thank you very much!!???

Apparently once you hit 2.5k of withdrawals they by law have to ask mate.
13th March 2019 at 5:28 pm #54922its a source of wealth check its no A.I or the mafia or the Illuminati or some other crazy organisation lol 🙂
13th March 2019 at 6:50 pm #54977Wow – that’s just crazy, having to send off your bank account transactions to an offshore gambling site.
Think i’d rather just collect £500 over the counter 🙂
then again I did read that William Hill were fined £6.4m for not protecting their customers after one guy on £30k a year at an accounts firm lost £365k in 9 months, so you can see why they are nervous

Does this apply to all forms of gambling on line or just the slots

Blank out all transactions unless they are too this casino, they can not make you show where your money is coming in from or going to,only transactions to them
14th March 2019 at 4:25 pm #55188It’s called KYC (know your customer) it’s a legal requirement that casinos must do when a player hits a certain amount of money wagered. In live casinos it’s £20000 or £5000 in a single day. If casinos don’t follow the law they are liable to huge fines in excess of £1million. It’s also a way to identify problem gamblers. I know it’s frustrating and online is way more tedious than in a live setting where you can just pull up your online banking or bring In a p60 etc the next time you enter the casino but they have to do these checks by law.
