When did we all stop being responsible for our own actions?
I hate this nanny state bollocks, I hate that a small group can spend all their time trying to get certain You Tube Channels closed down because they don’t ‘agree’ with the content.
Yeah right, don’t agree or are quite sad and as jealous as fuck that others are having a little success on Social Media? I know where my money is going.
I watch The Bandit as he is funny, entertains me and is <span style=”font-size: 1rem;”>bloody d</span><span style=”font-size: 1rem;”>ecent bloke, if I choose to spunk £200 quid on the slots, then that is my decision, not The Bandits or Paul’s or Kim’s or Nick’s, END OF.</span>
You can choose to spend it where you want, hooray for personal choice.
However, if someone dangles a carrot on a stick saying “Hey, you might win a grand off me if you sign up to this casino and spend a couple of quid” you might be a little more inclined to do something you DEFINITELY wouldn’t otherwise. Especially if you’re a compulsive gambler (sorry, EX gambler) with a proclivity towards being suckered in to gambling.20th July 2018 at 12:10 am #11696Exactly why I watch . I’m trying not to gamble myself and a vid twice a week actually does help

Well, if you are an ex gambler then you shouldn’t be watching gambling videos on Youtube full stop. And that is any gambling video, whether they are or are not produced by an affiliate.
One should also remember that you have to actively search out the gambling videos on Youtube. I challenge anybody to log out of their Youtube account and then clear their cache and cookies in the browser and load up Youtube. You will not come across gambling videos that are being discussed here, unless you search for a gambling term.
I am confident that no affiliate wants an addict to sign up through their link. The majority of gamblers are responsible gamblers (though the likes of the Guardian have your believe different!!). How does an affiliate stop the addict signing up? Answers on a post card please. And no, stopping affiliation is not the answer. Affiliation is not illegal. There are numerous rules and regulations that an affiliate has to comply with to make sure the promotion of the casino is done in the correct manner. And with casinos being directly responsible for the actions of their affiliates, they will not hesitate to close an affiliate account if something is not done correctly. I know that the likes of Casumo and Videoslots have done this. They don’t want to risk a massive fine by the UKGC.
Steve, I hope that you get your channel back soon. Keep up the good work mate.

I guess this is the background to the Love/Hate relationship that many of us have with the Bandit. I enjoy his video’s, and totally understand that he needs to generate income to make them, affiliation is the way to do this – I am not a lover of his “Big Win” pages, these big wins are funded by people who have lost big, but the average punter may not realise this and think it is going to happen to them – as the bandit says “there is very little chance it will” . The majority of the really big wins shown by broadcasters have been at stakes the average man or woman cant afford. (Jimbo’s massive DOA was at £7.20 a spin – 12 spins at that stake would feed a family for a week!)
I am also not a fan of the raffles, the issue being is that it became a competition between broadcasters to see who could offer the most outrageous prizes, and what 18 year old is not going to want to win PS4 or an IPhone X and think its worth investing £20 – especially when the broadcaster announces only 10 people in the raffle – He wins £100 from his deposit and we have an addict created!)
Bottom line – love the bandits videos, mixed feelings about affiliation but really hate the raffles and the big win advertisements. We shouldn’t encourage people to sign up for gambling, and as for the argument that you have to search for gambling videos I have just watched a Slipknot Video and you tube has autoplayed Justin Bieber next as a suggestion – I may never recover from the trauma!

Ok, where do we stop then? As others have said, introduce prohibition so we look after the alcoholics?
Why ban things that the majority are ok with just because there’s a minority who struggle.
I am amazed by the amount of hate here, hence why I said I don’t believe some are solely altruistic and it’s all down to jealousy.
Why not no and bother Zoe and Alfie and the like who are fleecing a nation of parents???

I am with you regarding the raffles. For me, raffles should be unconditional. In other words, there should not be a requirement to join a casino and/or make a deposit. And in fairness to Steve, he has done such a raffle with the White Rabbit World Cup.
As to the point of somebody winning £100 from a deposit and becoming an addict, that is like saying that somebody buys a bottle of wine in the supermarket, enjoys it and therefore becomes an alcoholic. Alcohol, cigarettes and gambling can be addictive but not everybody that enjoys these vices becomes one.
20th July 2018 at 11:07 am #11717To be fair he has done no requirement raffles on his website before, just take a look at the huge world up promotion he did. At the end of the day he is an affiliate who works with several casinos and that is his job to promote them. I’m a recovering gambling addict and clean for over a year now. I’ve have been watching TheBandits videos since then and it’s helped leaps and bounds to keep me off casinos and he also introduced me to Gambian which I put in place two months ago. I think you forget not everyone has a gambling problem and play for fun. If people are going to join with his links then that is their choice. He only promotes them for five minutes through out every hour long video, I just fast forward. Keep up the great work Bandit!

understand your point of view, but I think gambling is slightly different – you can’t lose 6.5k in a night as one guy on here did! You can only drink so much alcohol and smoke so many cigarettes :-). Bottom line, anything that encourages any sort of harmful addiction has to be wrong – hence my dislike of the raffles
20th July 2018 at 12:22 pm #11730I am not familiar with the story about the chap that lost £6.5k in a night. He clearly has a problem and should seek help in my opinion unless he was of course happy to lose the money and could afford it.
An addict may well make a deposit that he can ill afford to lose. He may do that by walking past a bookies, seeing an advert on telly, seeing a big win Youtube video not made by an affiliate (and there are plenty of them!!) or watching the Bandit.
20th July 2018 at 12:36 pm #11731Just My Opinion
I think you guys are sorta forgetting something important in that the raffles are entirely optional and people who FOUND The Bandits video on youtube or even a google SEARCH where looking for gambling videos/entertainment so where already a gambler or had an interest in it. Now I am not discounting that its entirely possible that someone could just come across it but its highly unlikely to happen youtube/googles algorithms are very accurate if you watch FIFA videos it will suggest FIFA videos if you watch top 10 stranges shit videos it will suggest those and in the exact same way Google will show SPONSORED ADS after you have done just one search for buying a car or washing machine it will advertise those items relentlessly.
My point is that as I think you said in one of your previous posts @babyface no one holds a gun to your head telling you to enter anything it’s at each individual discretion. There are plenty of comps to enter without gambling like a couple of websites giveaways inc the launch one and rabbit world cup there has also been a few like guess the pound coins in the mug and guess my video slots cashback which required nothing from the entries.
Everyone has there own opinion on the whole matter but there is a lot of hate for affiliates but please remember that with the things said above and if you have read it and thought about it you would realise that google/youtube are themselves just multi-million pound affiliates with links to everything from gambling ads to washing machines and makeup. And i don’t think everytime you use either service and watch an AD or click it you send abuse to either of them. 🙂

No hate from me, and certainly no jealousy – I’m here because I enjoy the videos, it’s always more fun to watch a winning one than a losing one (of course I appreciate there need to be both) so of course I’m always rooting for a big cash-out. #TeamBandit 😉
My responses to this thread were just to give a balanced view rather than the deluded folk suggesting this content is a good thing for a recovering gambler. It isn’t. I’m not quite sure why that rubbed people up the wrong way.
Sadly I do stick by the opinion that dangling a cash give-away for signing up to a site is a bit of a no-no considering a good proportion of the crowd seem to be recovering gamblers (half the YouTube comments were precisely that).
To counter that I can also appreciate the fact that instead of sticking an extra couple of grand in his pocket each month, bandit gives a ton of it away again to his viewers. It’s a double edged sword, pro’s and con’s just like anything in life.
120th July 2018 at 11:21 pm #11777I’m mainly an offline gambler i.e. I play category B3 arcade machines, but I enjoy the Bandit videos as the slots that he plays does overlap arcade machines. Plus, I will admit that I am guilty of signing up to VideoSlots via the Bandit and I self-enforce a limit of £50 per month via the site’s responsibly gambling facility where you can set limits.
What I don’t like is people playing the victim card and then go hating on the Bandit and other streamers. Fact is, that it is YOU that actively searched for gambling content on the internet. If you gamble and you want to carry on gambling, then fine. If you want to stop gambling, then it is YOU that has to make that descision. Not the nanny state, not the internet trolls and not the precious snowflakes for being such a victim. It’s YOU to decide.
21st July 2018 at 12:23 pm #11798Not sure if it’s already been mentioned but it looks like CasinoGrounds is back on YouTube? Surely this is much more harmful than Bandit’s channel (if we’re going down that route) as they only show big wins with no context. New people to gambling will watch that and not see the harsh reality of gambling. Bandit shows both sides and it’s a very fair perspective.
121st July 2018 at 4:56 pm #11808Apart from just not being an affiliate I don’t see what Bandit is supposed to do ? I have seen other affiliates being asked why they don’t have giveaways many times so it’s obv a deciding factor for a lot of people if they sign up through a particular link or not . A blanket ban on giveaways for all affiliates would be an option but until that happens you can’t blame Bandit for continuing with the giveaways . It’s simple marketing/competition same as for any competing businesses
As for “promoting gambling ” well apart from the giveaways Bandit does everything he can to let people know the truth about gambling and how you will usually lose and he also promotes Gamban and always says be careful etc
Some of you guys are living in a dream world thinking noone should make any money doing this
