Let me just explain the situation to you in full then mate.
When you say it is an easy fix, just put the video on any place etc, it’s just not that straightforward – you’ve got file limits, upload limits, time restrictions for length of video etc at a lot of places so you have to research that first, then once you find somewhere you think is suitable it is then passed over to my website guy. He then needs to do some work in the back which will allow me to post the video to wherever it may be and then for it to be able to appear on here, it’s not difficult work i don’t think but it is time consuming and he is a family man with his own 9-5 so i can’t expect him to just drop everything the minute something goes wrong my end but that also leads to the point of it needing to be a suitable solution and not just some temporary thing.
Twitch problems are that technically, you aren’t allowed to swear. Now whilst it isn’t the most enforced rule in the world on there, once people start reporting me, over and over, i am finding clearly that these platforms are seemingly taking the easy way out and just fucking off my account, it bums me out when something i have taken time to build and grow just gets erased at the touch of a button, it’s happened twice now hasn’t it so i don’t much fancy seeing it happen a third time. The other thing with Twitch is it isn’t really geared towards videos – they have a shelf life on there, they delete themselves after a certain number of days and that will ultimately leave my site with holes in it once the videos on Twitch have “expired”
A lot of people are putting their belief behind the problems on YouTube being down to the affiliate links – it isn’t because of the links, they have told me that themselves plus links are everywhere on there, oh look, here is my nice new review for the latest Cannon Camera, why am i doing that, well because if you fancy buying it and you do it through this link here in my video description, i will get a kickback, a little commission – sound familiar? Ever seen a review on YouTube with a “Link is in the description” line in the video somewhere, of course you have, well that’s affiliation. Even if it was about affiliate links, i don’t need them in my video description – they were generally a force of habit once this website went live because that is all on here now, just a link to backinamo.com in the description is fine so people coming out and saying oh you can’t get your YouTube back because you won’t take your links off is just nonsense, as i said, i don’t need them there now, it was just a saved description i had got used to copying and pasting because it was fully compliant with any guidelines i had to adhere to.
I have been quieter than usual this weekend, yesterday and today, as i had a last minute invite to Blackpool and tbh, drowning my sorrows with some arcade slotting and casino play was quite appealing! I met up with Paul (Rocknrolla) and we had a brilliant time, we met a few really nice folks from his forum and played in the casino and the arcades and drank plenty with a really nice meal too. It was about 3 and a half hours to get home via 3 trains and a bus and i was in the casino on Friday night/Saturday until 7 in the morning and then Saturday night in to Sunday until 3 in the morning so needless to say, i was fucked when i got home, I will be on it tomorrow searching for a suitable replacement hosting site – just to address another suggestion there, making your own is seemingly not the way forward and super complicated, the complications come when you have to have shit loads of different versions of the same video that can be selected by the program of your video player and sent to specific devices, one for iphones, one for android, one for tv’s, one for consoles, one for poor internet connections, one for lightning internet connections and so on and so forth and it quickly becomes some sort of mammoth mission lol
So trust me, lots of effort is going in to finding a solution to the problem but it isn’t something i can just snap my fingers and have done immediately unfortunately.
