The lockdown, bringing the closure of bookies, setting up gamban a year ago and getting out of the routine of going to the bookies along the road from my work before after and inbetween has resulted in my being gambling free for 20 weeks, this is a huge deal for me I’ve been gambling much more than I can afford for 21 years now, I’ve had a few ups, £21’000 line hit on lucky 88 using a loan though, topped rainbow riches pot on £10 spins and £6 k on raging rhino from a £20 deposit but all in all it’s been horrible having to lie borrow juggle my life living with no food electric and water one day and buying champagne For everyone and £500 neighbours on the roulette the next meanwhile having a family bills house 60 hour a week job shitting a brick every payday, it’s nice to just have £50 in the bank and all the bills paid being able to buy a coffee when the misses wants one, not making some shit up or getting a payday loan to please everyone, hope I can do 20 weeks more
5th August 2020 at 6:41 am #102341That really is good news mate. You’ve done 20 weeks and you can do 20 more! Try and remember those awful feelings of not having a pot to piss in come payday and use them to your advantage when you’re next tempted to have a flutter. Good luck mate.

Dude if you really really really want to be “out of it” stop looking for the obvious, mind cravings.
8th August 2020 at 2:35 am #102426I understand what your saying, but sometimes you also need to vent and say what you’ve been doing when you can’t tell anyone you know , this is for gambling not just wins

Don’t ever discourage people for coming on here and discussing gambling addiction! This is a place to encourage people to keep battling addiction, and some people come here to get their “fix” without having to gamble their own money. They come here because they know we are all the same (most of us) and have had the same dark days! I totally emphasise with OP and his story and I’m happy to hear he is doing well on gamstop.
Slotscrackhead, don’t make people feel bad for sharing their journey here. It’s always welcome.
I’m on gamstop myself, and I check in here most days to wonder at people’s big wins and enjoy the craic. I like watching bandits videos and it helps me not want to gamble my own money. I get the buzz from watching his ups and downs.
