Dont usually write here but done my nut in big time this month. I work as a support worker for autistic adults and only make £8.50/hour working 10hr nights, it’s a hard job sometimes and very challenging but the satisfaction you get from improving these people’s lives makes up for any bad things that can happen.
So got paid Thursday and decided to deposit £100 and give the slots a go, two hours later and what do you know I’ve only gone and lost my entire paycheque for the month (£1300). Kicking myself right now as I don’t have fuel to get to work, no food in the house and haven’t even paid my insurance and other bills.
Like wtf was I thinking.. how the hell did I manage this, I’ve really screwed myself over this time and have no way to recover from this. Have no family to turn to and no idea how I’m going to survive the month.
Anyone else had this problem?
Im sat here contemplating suicide right now as have pretty much nothing in this life and no reason to keep on going to be honest. Terrible credit history so can’t even get a payday loan to help me out short term. Defo done with gambling now and don’t see anything positive in the near future ? fml!

23rd June 2019 at 7:52 am #71302Sorry to hear this. If your gamstop ran out, I’d get it set back up straight away and self exclude from all casinos. Sell things you can do without to tie you through to your next pay day. I’d also have a look on gamcare as they have a councilling service, live chat ect with everyone going through the same problem as you are. Hope you’re feeling better soon ?

223rd June 2019 at 9:19 am #7130723rd June 2019 at 9:58 am #71312Been there mate on numerous occasions, wages went in at 12am, by 3am i had nothing left.
Get on gamstop asap its saved me a fortune. Then speak to family/friends to see if they can help tide you over till you sell some shit. Things will get better, they always do so dont do anything daft.
If you do end up with a large amount of cash through selling bits i would advise paying it into family members bank and get them to just transfer what you need to avoid the temptation of spunking that cash.
Hope it all sorts itself out, that feeling of self loathing is awful after you do it. If you have friends id suggest seeing them today so youre not on your own over thinking things.
23rd June 2019 at 10:01 am #71313Become a hermit, live in the woods, no bills, no worries
Back when my other half was playing red dead 2, he wanted to do this. He would soon change his mind when he realises the amount of spiders in the woods. He makes me get them out of our house, and wont even go in the garage until I’ve been in to see if there are any ‘hench’ ones ?
23rd June 2019 at 10:07 am #71314Sorry to hear this story.
Register for Gamstop. That will protect you 99% of the time & self exclude any casinos not on there.
23rd June 2019 at 10:34 am #71319Sorry to hear about your situation mate, hopefully you can sell a few bits you don’t need
benq says he some people that might be interest and no offence mate but £50” commission is just robbery of the poor guy
23rd June 2019 at 10:43 am #71320You posted back in May
Well I’ve just done my balls in, £2k down and there goes my paycheque. Was on Gamstop but my period ended and it’s a hassle to sign back up.
Now I have no food or money to live on till next payday June 21st ? hating life right about now, don’t know why I do this shit to myself. Don’t suppose anyone wants to buy an I7 gaming pc lol, need to sell it to eat this month ? FML!
A hassle to sign back up to Gamstop…well it certainly doesn’t take a month!
123rd June 2019 at 10:55 am #71323This seems like an on going problem you have. If it’s happened twice in the space of 3 months, you really need to do something about it. I know it’s a pain signing back up to gamstop because I looked into it a while ago, but surely it has to be worth it to save you losing your wages to gambling each month? The only person who can do anything at this point is you. We can point you in the right direction and give you advice, but only you can sign back up. If I’m right, it was a 2 forms of identification with your address on, and a selfie with photo I’d. Could be something you sign too, but I can’t remember. Please, for your own sake, sign back up. You’re going to end up not being able to pay rent/mortgage/bills soon if you haven’t already missed payments, and I don’t want another gambler on the street due to addiction when they can help them selves by signing up to a bloody website. Yes, as said in other threads, there are sites that are not part of gamstop yet, but use your brain if you remember any of them and exclude straight away along with gamstop.
Sorry for rambling 🙂
123rd June 2019 at 11:01 am #71326As winningbird said gamstop isn’t that much hassle, a lot less hassle than begging relatives or selling stuff if it’s got that bad. Defo get yourself back registered.
As for benq taking 500 for putting you in touch with someone who will buy it is shady as fuck. Praying on someone in a vulnerable position for your own personal gain is disgusting. Should be ashamed of yourself.
Hope you get it all sorted and get on gamstop
