“always be who you are, if you don’t it can make you very sad.. It can make you very ill” – Ronnie Kray

My cousin killed himself last week, and its got me thinking a lot (not to say he was like ronnie kray it’s just a good quote, he wasn’t gay) but it’s very important that you make the changes and live the way that truly makes you happy and remember you can always change shit

I have been reckless and useless and honestly considering the same thing. If there’s ever a silver lining in something so awful it’s that I no longer want to cut any opportunities to change..

If ever your feeling like there’s no hope talk to someone, there always is. I wish he had called someone in that moment even a stranger

Sorry to hear about your cousin mate. I think this is a topic I’ve always found difficult to understand been an optimistic person but i try. The 3rd paragraph is concerning though. Quote ” i have been reckless and useless and considering the same thing “. Are these your thoughts ? If they are then we’re here to help listen and advise always.

It’s a deep discussion and something I’m scared to talk about as I feel I’m under qualified and everyone who has an opinion may disagree.  What I would say, in my opinion is that depression is rife in the world we live in right now, the old saying a problem shared is a problem halved is so true, talking to someone about how you feel is not weak, it’s necessary as you can’t deal with it alone, even if you don’t have a large social circle, call a helpline, post on a forum like this, there is always a way out, you just can’t see it yourself when your deep in the disease, a thumbs up or a like or just a reply from a stranger can make a world of difference, I’m truly sorry for your loss.

ps, I have recently found Jordan Peterson’s clips on you tube inspiring, it’s not for everyone but it kinda works for me and where I’m at in this journey.

I was for a long while having those thoughts haz, thank you mate I know you’d lend an ear to anyone. It was w<span style=”font-size: 1rem;”>atching the direct effect on my family and seeing it from a 3rd party family member has changed what I was really looking at as an inevitable until now</span>

So I’m going to be who I am, because I don’t want my sadness to become the illness that caused scotty to do what he did

So sorry to hear about your cousin EB. I hope he’s found a better place to be. I ain’t religious mate, but I truly believe something far beyond our imagination exists after we leave this life.

Depression is a mother fucker. And it always seems to hit me when I least expect it. Talking always helps , and it always seems to makes things better. The problem we have, is that when the feelings cut so deep, the mind never wants to talk about it. The line between finding help and accepting help is fucking wafer thin one. I’ve had some pretty shit moments over the past few weeks. And me not reaching out to anyone has been a huge self burdened pill to swallow. Having this forum helps me a lot though. Just reading threads like these and not even commenting is soothing to me.

Chin up mate. And I’m always here X

Sorry for your loss 🙁 I’m always here if you need a chat as you know. Same goes for the rest of you lot here.. if you can’t find me here, I’m on Twitter.

I’m in habits of listening to songs about depression/recovering from depression and they’re amazing. Listen to twenty one pilots – guns for hands or kitchen sink. It really hits home when you the songs. Their music has really helped me through some dark times, and I’m not a music fan at all. Their music just soothes me 🙂

Don’t ever change for anyone Eightblack.. if they don’t like who you are, they’re not worth your time.  X
