I know it’s my fault for taking out the loans and using it to gamble but on the other hand there is some I think aren’t responsible lending. Not going to mention any names but I’ve got 6 payday loans with the same company, each one being £200/£300 on average. Some of them with 950-1000% interest. I applied for one at 2am a while back and it was in my bank within 5mins, it’s way too easy. But again I know it’s my fault, i applied for it in the first place. I’ve got few more with some other companies aswell.

you will get a reply within in a week saying they have received your complaint. You should do it via the company’s complaint section on your acount. Copy the email with the changes of your details, The templated email will also ask them to send you your loan history which they will, the generic response they send says we will get back to you with in 6 weeks. They should lock your loans while this is going on but not repot it on your credit score. They will reply to you within 6 weeks saying if they agree with you or not. If they agree they will offer you a settlement and if you except it usually within 10 days it is paid into your acount. So about 8 weeks in total, if they refuse they will tell you why and send a link to the financial ombudsman, follow the link and fill a complaint with them(attaché the email you sent to pay day companies and a brief discription of your complaint. You will receive a letter in a week or so from them acknowledging they are taking up your case, all of this is free and easy to do,If the pay day company ask you for bank statements simple say no I will pass them to the ombudsman if he requires them.  I wouldn’t bother with wonga as I am not excepting much back if anything. But doing this should give the time to sort your money out as you may still need to pay it back but maybe 6 months down the line with no extra interest.

 

The pay day compaines might then say they will not offer you anymore loans in the future which takes the temptation away.

I am contacting you today in regards to your irresponsible lending to me over the years.

I have been contacted by a claim my payday loan back and after I have given them the details they have asked to take my case on against your company, I am hoping we can resolve this between your company and myself but if this is not the case then I will instruct them to take the case on.

Over the years I have had many loans with you dating back to …. and I believe a lot of them are covered by irresponsible lending on your part. In regards to I am making a complaint to you about irresponsible lending.

To help me explain the details, I am making a Subject Access Request, asking for a list of my loans, showing for each loan when it was taken out, how much interest and charges you added and what I repaid.

If a loan was later sold to a debt collector, please inform me of the date of sale and the name of the debt collector. [delete this sentence if you know none of your loans were sold.]

Under GDPR you are not allowed to charge me for this information.

You should never have given me these unaffordable loans. I am asking you to refund the interest and any charges I paid, plus statutory interest, and to delete any negative information from my credit record.

I look forward to your speedy response as this matter has caused untold distress to me over this period of time
