Hi guys and girls. I’m Rob and I’m 31. I’m stopping myself before it gets too much. Apologies for the long post but it’s always good to write stuff down as there is some finality to words. Not in debt fortunately and overall over the past 2 years I’m definitely up (could easily be down loads though – the old rollercoaster gambler). Recently though (last few months) I’ve seen a change in how I play. Before it was a tenner on a Friday night and 20p spins, then £20 and 40p spins. Now I’m depositing £100 and buying 5 Extra Chilli bonuses and gambling all of them. Somehow I’m up by about £400 on the game but if that had gone south that would of been over £1000 down the drain over the course of a weekend. That’s a lot of money to me and then there’s that little voice that says make more of/chase that money. I’ve just lost £50 tonight and there were some turning points for me which I’ve recognised as being not good so I’m making a change:

Buying Extra Chilli bonuses without a care and then gambling them. Extra Chilli is cancerous. If you’re playing Extra Chilli, chances are you like a gamble. This straight away puts you at a disadvantage as already that gamble wheel is calling to you. First is a 50/50. Lose that, that’s it. Second one slightly better odds of landing, but lose it and you’re done. Okay, on to the next one. Gamble. Lose. Next one. It’s a toxic cycle broken by the elation of hitting the 24 spins because lets face it, the temptation to go to 24 is like drinking one more beer before closing. I found myself punching my desk if I missed on the wheel. That’s not healthy behaviour. Getting angry at a bloody spinning wheel?! Time for a change in thinking. I honestly think that Extra Chilli is a horrible, horrible game and the fact you can buy a £2000 (?) feature drop and gamble it and get nothing is crazy.

White Rabbit bonuses. Similar to Extra Chilli I was buying these at £100 not even expecting to win. I was expecting to get 70-80% back. I was gambling not expecting to win. That is stupid. Why the hell was I doing that? You only have to look at Bandit’s World Cup draw to see how rubbish those White Rabbit bonuses can be.

The teases. There must be some kind of psychological reason for teases. By a tease I mean when something pops out, bonus; yes!, only for them to pop back in and nothing to happen. It’s the most triggering, tilting thing ever and I find myself swearing at some pixelated fucktard on my screen for not giving me a feature. I’m getting angry at dangling skeletons in Skulls, some trumpeteer wanker in Centurion and some fat Mexican luchadore in Senor Burrito (also feeling slightly elated when he farts which again is fucking ridiculous).

It’s always on your mind. At work, I’ll sit there and think “Maybe I’ll play DHV tonight. £50 see how it goes.”

The guilt. I lose £50 pounds and I feel frustrated and guilty with myself. If I win in back I’ll feel good but the guilt that I won it back is there still and now I can afford to go again.

The complete waste of time. For me, I’m a big media fan. Whether that’s books, TV, Film etc. I could engross myself in a quality novel but I’m playing slots for 2 hours for potentially nothing. I’ve got a huge catalogue of unread books that I’m going to work my way through. I’ve loads to fill my time with so that’s good..

I’m definitely going out on a high here. As much as I hate Extra Chilli, I am up over the game. But the love has gone and when the love has gone you have to move on. I’ll still be watching the Bandit Slot videos as it’s always nice to see how games play and hopefully some good wins for Stevie! But for me, it’s time to stop the slots before they start stopping me. This is a great community between here and the Youtubers. My advice to anyone thinking about stopping is to write down reasons why you think you should stop. Honestly, reading back on my reasons above had affirmed that I’m making the right decision here. I’ll still be doing a little bit of BetFair Trading in the future once I’ve sorted my mindset out. For all you slotters out there I wish you the best of luck but please try to only bet what you can afford to lose and stop if you find your behaviour negatively changing. Sorry for the long post, but as said earlier, writing stuff down can really help sort your thoughts out.

    All the best everyone!

Totally agree with all of that mate, Extra Chilli is a bad bad game for those that like to gamble, it gets me every time too. It is savage that you can spend £100 or £200 or £500 buying a bonus that ultimately, within one click, becomes no bonus and you are back to the start screen!

The White Rabbit World Cup definitely showed the game for what it can do to you, and that is a big run of shite isn’t it! Yes of course, sometimes it will retrigger and go big but wow, few and far between those bonuses aren’t they!

Good luck in booting it all mate, absolutely best to do it now whilst you are ahead of the game so to speak with a little bit of profit in your pocket because as we all know, it can be fucking dangerous out in that online world!

Yeah Extra Chill is a horrible slot. i don’t even play it on the base game just for the fact i would get sucked into gambling for those extra spins.

I got myself into debt with gambling awhile ago,i am now sorted but i have very strict restrictions in place. I have deposit limits, also i have a set amount that i can spend each month (set by the mrs).

One thing i felt hard to do was quit completely. Just didn’t work for me as it was sending me depressed. But with much tighter controls i can still do what i enjoy just at a fun factor level, where as before i would just Degen to the max chasing all the time.

Its a horrible cycle to get into and i totally know how you feel. With gamstop soon to be a requirement for all casinos to be apart of i can only see less and less of these type of posts popping up which can only be a good thing.

    All the best mate.

My gambling career has been at least 25 years and slots are the only thing I find compulsive at times. There are some terrible games that draw you in. Dragon’s Luck had me yesterday chasing mega wins with the big coin wild. Immortal Romance is another that promises much but rarely hits.

Cutting down on the number of sites seems a good idea for me. Probably just keeping some bookies sites and with PP and Betfair just self excluding from casino and arcade because I never bet big amounts on sports.

Slots will throw out a 500x type win or bonus after not many spins. The few times this has happened I withdraw my winnings and think briefly how somebody must of done their brains on that game to throw out that win that balanced the RTP. The trouble is I get caught on the other side of the equation doing multiple deposits chasing just one bonus or big win. My self control just goes on a break.

Good luck to everyone with slots or bets or other pastimes. Just stay in control, as the cliche goes.

Agreed. The concept of gambling a feature is a dirty move on behalf of the operators if I’m honest. They know what the punters will do, and are fully aware that most of us will tilt our bollocks off when we lose! I’m surprised they do it knowing that there’s a big responsible gambling campaign out there now but, hey thats slots for you.

You make the point of buying white rabbit features and expecting to lose, but to be honest that is what we’re all doing with any slot. The principle is the same regardless of the context you use. Point is, be careful whatever you play and however you play it. Set loss or deposit limits on your casino accounts to help you stay in control.

Personally, I was balls deep in roulette a few years ago. I racked up 4 grand of debt over a year or so, then kept maxing out my overdraft for months after. I’m out of all that now, and I’m debt free. I don’t play roulette a lot, I find it harder to curtail my ‘impulsivity’ when I play. I find I’m a lot more controlled with the slots, and continue to play them, responsibly of course 🙂

me personally thinks that extra chilli is maybe the best slot going atm ive not won great money from this slot but I think the gamble feature is kinda like Russian roulette yes everybody moans when they lose the gamble everyone crys when their money is lost but that’s no different to any other slot example you could spend 500 pounds easily chasing a bonus on captain venture or a couple of hundred quid on dead or alive to receive a couple of quid back on a bonus so in my view extra chilli is no different if persistent with the game and you manage to complete all the gambles I know nine times out of ten this feature brings profit sometimes huge profit for the lucky ones so I think this slot gets a lot of unfair comments its no different to anything else on the market just gamble with what u can afford when the fun stops stop lol .

The way i look at it is to disregard to fact im gambling and tell myself that the money im spending is for entertainment value, granted Its expensive entertainment if you let it be but thats all it is.

You cant honestly expect to blow £100 gambling and think the game is at fault. Theyre designed to be overall loses.

Thats how i get through the dread of any losses i incur.

Well, hello again. I decided to have another little dabble. I’m now locking accounts lol. I’ve just been utterly fisted by Primal. 25 spin bonus (took 645 spins to get) with utterly crazy potential. Only on 40p stake. It paid £6.20.

Reactoonz maybe can save me? Nope – and to take the piss even more it was giving me 6 random wilds and not connecting any of them lol.

I went to Goonies and then had 17 teases before going bust.

I’ve just self excluded my main accounts for 5 years. Talk about getting majorly triggered haha!

    All the best everyone!

You are correct, chilli is just the worst for a gambler,i am massively down on that game..another streamer Craigslots a few months back was over 20k up on it,mostly from £100 buy ins..a few months later and he now says he is over 20k down on it,thats a 40k swing atleast.

If you really are done with it just join gamban,as that gambling feeling can get too much and we think to ourselves ok 1 last time, ive done it 100s of times of myself.

If you want to stop gambling then the worse thing you can do is carry on watching the bandits videos!  It will make you want to gamble.  Can I ask, are you just basically gambling or are you using promotions?  Depending on the specifics of the offer, the long term value (EV) is in your favour if you are doing promotions/deposit bonuses.  However if you are just gambling with no edge then you will lose money as the RTP of every slot is below 100%

On the subject of megaways/BTG slots, my experience of them is that they are nothing short of fraudulent!  I’ve been attempting deposit bonuses on and off now for over 2 years.  Must have had over 100 attempts and I’m still waiting for a win.  Supposed to be profitable in the long term in terms of EV but I’m still waiting for the variance to turn and it’s probably down to frikkin megaways shite.  I must have done now over 5000 spins on various megaways games and I’m still waiting for a bloody feature round!  It’s an absolute joke.  I just know that one will eventually land on a big stake and it will pay out 10x stake.  This is what these poisonous games are like.  You wait an eternity for a feature and then when you get it, it screws you.

It never ceases to amaze me how many feature rounds the bandit and other streamers get on megaways games.
