So first off SORRY this isn’t anything to do with gambling so of an admin needs to delete this I understand ?
Right I’m sure at least one person is able to help im quite overweight and before anyone says eat less it isn’t that simple….i suffer from pretty sever anxiety and depression to the point I rarely leave the house so ofcourse get NO exercise I was looking at purchasing a cheap exercise bike off of eBay to try and loose weight to get some confidence back so I can actually leave the house but all the bikes im looking at have a max weight f 15stone and I weigh around 23……i know its bad
So basically what I’m trying to ask is is a there any kind of fitness people on here who could maybe give me some advice on how to get healthy and some exercises I could do as I’m getting really desperate.
Going to the gym is a BIG NO for me due to anxiety and ofcourse not going out means no job so I can’t afford a bike more than £40 ? or sign up to any websites such as weight watchers etc. So please if anyone out there is in yo fitness and doesn’t mind maybe emailing me some tips, advice or even dietary information I would be grateful.
SORRY this is so long lol I could go on and on lol.
23rd February 2019 at 1:45 am #50497Sorry to hear mate. Not a clue about anxiety or depression so not much use there i did however help my sister lose about 8 stone over a period of a couple of months. Best place to start i would suggest would be to just start slowly and build up. Exercise bikes often just get bought then sidelined maybe just start with walks. Not many people is up and about the early hours of the morning so perhaps going out then is an option? It will be really difficult to do own your own finding others with similar goals can really help with motivation. At the beginning diet is not really all that important imo getting a routine and getting active is more important to begin with. No quick fix for this am afraid going to take a lot of hard work. Good luck ?
123rd February 2019 at 2:17 am #50508Long quiet walks is a good way to lose weight, I know you said you don’t get out much but this would help your anxiety too, if you can manage Ofcourse ?
There’s some good advice out there for weight loss in J. Rogan podcasts with those MMA guys, all big dudes who need the best ways of weight loss. The main takeaway from them that I got was don’t over eat for what your doing in your day otherwise exercises are pointless.
123rd February 2019 at 3:11 am #50510Eating healthy and exercise will help enormously with depression and anxiety. Try some hiit workouts, you will find plenty on YouTube and is a great way to burn fat. Keep your chin up pal.

That’s actually pretty helpful, I have a very hard time sleeping im usually awake until gone 5 in the morning so maybe I could try then but it’s a bit worrying because recently a woman in my area got stabbed and mugged while walking her dog ? but I seriously am going to try that ???

When I say I don’t get out I mean I don’t get out like at all lol it may sound silly to some people but when you get as anxious as I do it’s really hard. It took me literal years to even get the courage and ask the Dr for help.

A family member is meant to be helping me with the eating healthy part but she hasn’t gotten around to it yet =/ and I just seen a 7 minute hilt workout on YouTube I’m sure I can manage 7 minutes of working out =)!! It’s time to try and sort my personal shit out and try to get somewhat of a life going ?
23rd February 2019 at 3:31 am #50516Hey Rikki, how are you getting on with the anxiety ? I’ve had panic attacks for about 10 years now. So I know about triggers and breathing exercises, stress and of course what meds I take. I actually endured them for a whole year without meds because they offered me diazipam and there is no way on gods green earth I was willing to become addicted to them, as opposed to at worse, dependent on something else. It’s a long drawn out story but I have ok days and bad days, the occasional good or better day.
Also, aside from staff here knowing your email address, don’t worry too much about talking about this issue on the forum, they are a good bunch and they care too. It’s a down to earth place. Do you know about the official panic attack website ? Can’t think of it off the top of my head but I am sure a quick search will find it. Dunno why I am typing that and not just googling it for you, in case you don’t know of it.
I to have put on a bit of weight as a result of many (feels like) billions of days when I am no use to anyone. I don’t walk far and due to a head injury I don’t run. Cycling is a great way also swimming is the best for all over fitness.
Onwards and upwards 🙂

This….. I was just about to write something like this….
Hi Rikki…. I understand my friend, I’ve been there and was off me work for 4 difficult years… I found that finding enjoyable pass times helped me greatly, like reading and stuff to get me out of my bad days… And I knew as soon as I woke up if it was a bad day….
Motivation is key.. Very difficult I know but its essential to recovery.
Keep posting My friend and we’ll keep responding. ??❤️
23rd February 2019 at 4:39 am #50520OK Rikki, so the bottom line is that there are millions of exercise bikes in the world and the majority of them are being used to dry clothes on.
if i’m not wrong you don’t go out due to anxiety and a by product of that is that you spend a lot of time on the PC or watching TV with a fridge full of food at close hand which is readily available.
Any exercise bike you can get for £40 is going to be a total piece of crap which will not be designed for you weight, will be horrible to use and will be discarded after the first five minutes.
first thing to do is get food intake under control. I just buy enough for what I need and no more. I don’t buy junk food like desserts, chocolate or crisps etc because I love food too much and will eat it all in the first day.
Once the weight starts to drop off it will be like a mental achievement and it will get easier, and don’t worry about getting “stabbed” by going for early morning walks. Stay out of the dark areas and remember there are 65 million people in the Uk and probably 200 stabbing a year, mostly in London by Young thugs fighting each other.
it is so worth doing this, it will change your life- self esteem improves, your whole outlook will change and eventually you may even see body improvement as a hobby, you will certainly live longer and better
23rd February 2019 at 9:50 am #50548This is gonna sound daft mate. But get some cats for your anxiety and depression. I suffer from the same, and my 2 awesome Pupps make a world of difference. Good luck with the weight loss mate.

I’ve had anxiety for maybe 7-8 years….so a very long time, all started after watching my sister pass away in hospital which all set it off =/ to help with the anxiety in actually doing an online course with silvercloud at the moment it isn’t really helping much but I’ve only started recently so. I would love to cycle I did that a lot when I was younger but I always worry about the bike might decide to break while I’m riding ?

That’s what I need is motivation!!! I need someone to kick me up the ads and say get out! But it’s extremely difficult trying to tell family/friends about how I feel.

I shouldn’t really be worried about getting stabbed lmao I’m a pretty big guy with a big beard and Staffy dog so ?
When I first posted this I was scared to even check the replys thinking there would be people calling me a lazy so and so ? but I’m genuinely greatful for everyone commenting and being supportive.
