    Hellooooo,

So… delete this or tell me to bore off if I’m chatting rubbish please haha but I’m currently wondering like, why do I gamble. Is it really cause I enjoy it. Or is it cause I see these Unreal huge wins with crazy stakes and think “ aye, I want that rush of excitement “

I know only I can know this and it might seem daft, but am I better off getting out now? Before I have one bad session and blow the lot? Cause I’ve been tempted but luckily had that will power to say No!

what’s others thoughts and what’s your reasons for playing ? ( if you’s don’t mind me asking ) haha

For me its always been about the buzz of the big win. I have friends who dont gamble as wen ever they tried they lost so thought it wasnt for them. If u win big u want to win like tht again. Which is daft coz the big win will hardly ever come.

I play like I’m playing a video games  …. I’m happy to rock a massive £20 on twenty pence for half an hour or a couple of hundred for hopefully an hour or two … I’m here to play the games, but I don’t play as if the big win is due, Im very aware the money I play with is lost and once in a while ”big win “ will flash, but it so rare I don’t really look for it … which is why I’m quite happy to spin 10p or £5 spins   …..I love playing megaways or book or jammin , so I play because a) I do a lot of travelling and it’s surprisingly good way of passing the time b) because I enjoy the lights and the noises and the creativity behind some games ……..like a baby with keys …….

Definitely mate! Hit the nail on the head really, won £2500 off jackpot king, loved the rush. But then just never replicated anything like it and I’ve started to think I’m doing it for the wrong reasons which will eventually land me in trouble with money !

You are asking the right questions.

Casinos are money sucking vampires that will do anything to get everything from you. They use psychological mind tricks and unethical “promotions” to get you hooked. Then depending on your brain chemistry you will either get addicted or will be capable to be in control of it.

Im on gamstop now but I wouldn’t say i enjoyed it when i was gambling at all which is even more strange considering how much time and money i gave to it. I very much enjoyed sports betting, horses, dogs were a hobby, studying form and following the top horses etc, football accumulators which i still do each saturday, even though i’ve only landed about 5 all season! But when i was gambling on casino games i was far too reckless to enjoy it staking at times probably more than i could afford to meant i was full of nerves during sessions. The only enjoyment would ever come when i had won and got out of there. I dont miss it at all, im much happier and more stable without gambling, the only thing i miss is the horses and dogs, i still watch and follow results.. maybe soon ill trust myself back in a bookies but for now im content cutting it out for good

As an all or nothing gambler like many others on here i felt i had to sign up to gamstop. I’d love to play small stakes with money i can afford to lose but i can’t so i don’t. Sometimes i miss it but i know for me personally it’s the right thing to do.

Well said haz. I’m the same, although it’s only very rarely that I feel a want to gamble. Very glad gamstop exists, wish it had 20 years ago .
