Im not one to get pissed off with anything, but Gamstop…. faaaaaack it…….
At the end of December i went on Gamstop, not that i was gambling too much, in fact id had a good few months, i just decided that after losing 5k the year before and then winning it all back and a few extra quid, that id like to hang on to it for a bit, and i saw a few people losing loads and the rules started getting stupid, so ‘click’ i signed up, after 2 weeks i was pissed off and wanted to have a gamble but couldnt, so that part is worth it… A month or two went by and it didnt really bother me, i played the free slots every so often and some of them vanished but it wasnt a problem… The problem came when the Gamstop ran out, trying to log on to any casino is a pain in the arse, all i get is, prove your gamstop has run out, which i sent them screenshots as they asked, but had no reply, the others want me to answer a shit load of questions, then they say ok, now phone us up and we’ll talk about your answers, some want the dreaded SOW as well, i even had to phone the people at Gamstop to ask them to remove my self exclusion, even though it had run out.. WTF… they asked all sorts of questions, why did you self exclude, why do you want your exclusion removed, fuckin hell, if i thought it was gonna be like this id have just put a time limit on the casinos. I know its bad but i might have signed up to more than 20 casinos over the last 3 years, and i think most of them closed my accounts, some for no reason, some for SOW and one i asked could i have a time out and they said, yeah no problem, and closed my account, wally… so ive got 5 that let me in, 5 that havent replied and the rest are closed..
So is it worth it, yes if you dont want to gamble ever again but not if you want to go back on, i aint phoning 20 casinos and slavering to them, fuck em, they either let me in and take my money or they fuck off and get nothing..Sorry about my language, im getting as bad as Bandit 😛
25th May 2021 at 5:35 pm #109032Absolute bullshit isn’t it, I try and not really say how shit it is getting accounts back open because it might put people off doing it (honestly if you feel you need gamstop then don’t hesitate)
Paddy power and Betfair lifetime banned me, that was particularly nice 🤣🤣
If I remember rightly, video slots will just let you straight back in, like Mr Krabs they are (I like money!)
Hopefully you got what you were looking for out of your time gamstopped though matey 👍
25th May 2021 at 6:09 pm #109033Ive got to say for quitting gambling its fantastic… and you’re right about videoslots, right back in, i have a £20 limit on there so i cant go crazy… I guess it gave me 6 months to save some cash and do other things than gamble… the only ones who did let me back in made sure i have set limits… I would prefer it if they did 3 months at a time and just reopened accounts straight away but you cant have everything 🙂
25th May 2021 at 6:11 pm #109034Gamstop is actually decent, it’s there for people with problems, if you fancy just taking a break, then do that via the individual casinos, perhaps setting a £10 weekly or monthly limit… Only go down the Gamstop route when your really done with gambling for good… It’s not overly diffiicult to remove the exlusion, give them a call so they can ask that you will be able to control yourself again, wait for a 24 hour cooling off period (I think it can take up to 7 days, but usually 24 hours and its done), and then some casinos automatically know its lifted and you can log in as normal, but there will be a few casinos that don’t want problematic gamblers back, they dont want to be the centre of attention when a gambler loses their house and goes to the press! So i dont blame them.
25th May 2021 at 6:51 pm #109035Having used Gamstop in the past, I can wholeheartedly say that it was a huge mistake. Many casinos, including the big ones, will permanently close your account when you sign up.
“Consider using Gamstop to take a break from online gambling”, they say.
“Oh, you’ve been on Gamstop? You can never use our casino again.”, many also say.
These policies actively discourage users from using the tool, myself included. I will never use it again to take a break from gambling.
26th May 2021 at 2:50 pm #109038GameStop is ok if you give up gambling for good, I had the same problem 2 years ago I join GameStop for 6 months, I still have a problem on many casinos, GameStop keep all are data for next 5 years so casinos and 3rd party can have access, not sure who is the 3rd party they use when you Gamestop runout you have 1 week to contact Gamestop, If you don’t chat with them in 7 days you gamestop will carry on for 7 years
My option Gamestop for 6m or 1 year is total bullshit,
