First of all, I’m sorry you’ve had to go through this and get to this stage. Please don’t think you’re alone, theres a good percentage of us on the forum who have been in your situation.

I would recommend signing up to gamstop. Also, be honest with your partner about what’s happened. I know it will be hard, and it will probably loosen the blow considering he already knows you gamble.

Remember, the hardest step is admitting you have a problem, so the worst is over, and well done for admitting it.

As for your rent/Bill’s, could your partner help this month or get help from family or friends? Remember, if you manage to get help for your bills and rent to give it straight to your partner to pay.

Ty for all your help spoke to partner he’s obviously angry an upset and I can’t blame him. He has said he will for the minute take control of the finances and he will contact housing tomorrow to see if we can get any extension . Don’t beat yourself up too much. You can see it was the wrong thing to do, so learn from it. If you learn from your mistakes, then they’re not always a bad thing.

Been there many times in the past, sorry you’re going through it now. It’s not easy everyone here knows that’s the truth, get signed up to gamstop before you come in to anymore money, also self exclude yourself from any bookies within a few mile radius. I done this and today my ban is up, not going to lie i will be making a new online account, but its getting a limit put on. Hope you get the help you need

What a day so emotional and worn down right now tried to be honest with landlord turns out he’s isn’t very sympathetic an understanding at all . Taken my laptop to sell but as the battery doesn’t hold charge when not plugged in it’s useless basically an not eaten in 2 days !!! How did I not think about the consequences before getting here ???? How absolutely pathetic am I . Why didn’t I stop even when I only had £100- left so at least I had gas an electric that would last ??? Hate myself big time why did I not think about the reality ??? What have I done !!!

There are as people have said lots who have done the same and tilted massively. It took me to learn the hard way before I didnt do it again. So stay strong be positive. Do you not have any family close by that can help you get by this month?

If I had anything I would help, but as you’ve probably seen in my previous post, I have messed up too. I would recommend asking friends/family if they can loan you the money.

Sell the laptop on gumtree/shpock for a discounted price. Be honest about the battery and someone will snap it off you. It will be cheaper for them to but a new battery than a whole new laptop.

Consider selling old valuable items that you may have forgotten about.

 

Best of luck finding some help. You’re not alone here. It takes someone to hit rock bottom like this, to start building their life back up.

Awe I know thanks I got myself into this rut an somehow I’ll get myself back out xx actually feeling a tiny bit better knowing I’ve now blocked the online an think the lady at gamcare said most of the main casinos are on the gamban lists . I’d never go into a bookies or arcade so I just got to ride out this mth an let it be a huge learning curve

I know how this feels first-hand @Blade5567 but you have done all you can to stop this from happening again and with the support of your loved ones you will get through this month and be back on track. You can always come on here to vent its what we are all here for 🙂

Cheers mate x mad how enjoying a game of bingo every blue moon suddenly turned to this . Don’t get me wrong I feel relieved I have done the gamban and also ordered new card and didn’t open it hubbies took control for now so I know I won’t be feeling like this again but it’s hard dealing with the guilt . My kids just gone back to school and should be kitted out in all new uniform but no I was selfish !!!

I know it’s hard dealing with the guilt, but you’ve just got to remember how you feel right now, and how you felt when you first did it. This will hopefully put you off the urge if it ever rises again. I know it’s hard and you probably feel like shit, but you will get through it. You’ve come this far, you’ve already admitted you have a problem, told your partner, and took the appropriate steps to make sure it can’t happen again. You’re a brave person in my eyes, just for admitting it. Best thing to do is come on here and have a natter when you feel down like this. I’m always here even though I may reply a little late 🙂

Handing control of the cards over to my wife was the best thing I ever did. Now i just gets spends lol and although it should have ever got that far for myself I had no one to blame other than me not wanting a footy bet or a slot to beat me so I kept depositing.

But hopefully now you can be free of it have a chill out this weekend stop feeling guilty.

As the main point is we all make mistakes it’s how we learn from them that defines who we are as individuals.

Hope your starting to feel a bit better. Speaking to your partner and getting this off your chest will be the best thing you have ever done. Its the support you get from other people along with willpower that will get you through. Theres nothing worse than suffering this yourself.

It does get easier through time so stick in there.

Cheers mate , partners been amazing really obviously he was extremely angry and upset in the begining as I’d spent everything we have which I’m extremely sorry for . But he has offered to come with me to get some help and although we struggling right now hopefully we will get through this
