Hi all,
First of all my native language is not English but I wanted to share this story.
I had a huge gambling addiction a few years ago and when my girlfriend found out she helped me to get back in track. I was able to ressist any kind of gambling until I found a new job.
The new job was and is amazing! I’m an IT-Engineer in a financial kind of business. I was able to open a new bank account for free, got a nice car, good payrise. Everything was fine!
Until I started gambling again. The card that I got from work had no limits. I didn’t know at that time, I was in a rush and could deposit again and again in one click… I lost a lot. Like really a lot in a short amount of time.
At the end of the month I get a call from a banker at work. He asked what was going on in my account. I panicked and started blaming others. But I knew that wasn’t the right thing to do but I still did it… We talked over the phone and he wanted to see me in person.
That was the moment I knew I fucked up. Two days later I had to see him at work in a small meeting room. He was alone and the first thing he asked was: “Can you please explain honestly what’s going on?” Then I had some kind of “click” in my head and told everything. How easy it was to deposit. I also had put myself on a ban list but one casino didn’t allow it for some dark reason and they even sended me personal mails with bonuses and “free money” to keep me playing there. This is still going on today btw.
But when I finished my story he was quit for some time and told me he had to consult human resources to see what we can do.
I was scared to lose my job. At work I could forget all the troubles in my mind and keep focusing on my job but when I got home I was eager to gamble again…
A day later HR called me into their office. She was so kind to me. Understanding what I was going trough and offered me help. I am now able to go to a psychologist specialized in gambling addiction, completely paid by my work. I have a (hard) plan to pay of my depts for a couple of years. But I’m able to do it!
I got a wake up call and took it with both hands. I’m now looking for an extra part time job in the weekend to have some extra’s but I’m FREE of the devil itself.
My job is the best thing that happened to me ever.
The videos from Bandit really help me to have some kind of “thrill” in my life.
I hope everyone that has problems finds help and accepts it.
That’s all folks. I hope this story can help someone else as well.

28th October 2019 at 8:38 pm #82384Lovely to see your work were supportive with you, and offered the help you needed. It’s not often you find a job that you enjoy, as well as one that treats you well. It sounds like you’ve landed on your feet with that one. Great to see recovery is going well too 🙂
