I used to play a bit of online poker, joined like 40 seater/person tournaments, so, small tourneys and I used to get suspicious that some people were helping each other/friends, just wondering if there is a team on here like that or if one should be made?
For example, start a BIAM poker team. When there’s enough members (Say 10 for example as 9-10 spots pay in a 40 seat tourney?), all go onto the same poker site and all sign up for the same, small table tournament (Like a 40 seat one). You could then end up with members of the BIAM poker team (Odds are 3 BIAM members in this example) on the same table (Or more as you knock players out of the tourney) and they could communicate through a Reddit or website (Or a code in the chat on the poker site) whilst playing and help each other out/get rid of the others players.
I know it doesn’t guarantee winning but it would give the team an edge, then if it comes down to just BIAM players left in the tourney at the end, let battle commence normally again (No communicating) or play to an agreed set of rules.
Not sure if it’s legal or possible to do, just a thought though, could be fun too???
11th May 2020 at 6:22 am #97945People have tried to explain poker to me a good 5 times, and I still can’t get my head around it. It does sound a bit illegal though what you’re saying ? why don’t you just try to set up your own poker table somewhere?
111th May 2020 at 8:33 am #97947This is the definition of collusion. You would be breaking the T&C’s of the site plus it could be punishable by law. Also why would you want to effectively steal other players expected value/money?
111th May 2020 at 5:49 pm #98012You mis-understand, I don’t like poker myself anymore, takes way too long (Was in a tourney that took 6 plus hours once to come 4th place)! Dynamik, I don’t want to steal anyones money, WTF, seriously?? I was asking if was legal as I have noticed people possibly doing it before, then if it is legal, why hasn’t one been set up (A team) on a gambling website, hence my suggestion.
I’ll give you a “thank you” for answering my question, but dang man…
11th May 2020 at 6:06 pm #98014Short answer – no it’s not legal.
The poker websites algorithms would detect unusual play on various accounts (I.e if some of the “team” got dealt AA v KK v QQ but QQ and KK fold as they were colluding against innocent players the site detects not only this type of play but far more subtle plays).
The teams accounts would be banned, as possible action taken against the players for cheating.

I said it’s illegal. It is effectively stealing, you are teaming up against people who are playing by themselves to gain an advantage so that you win their money from the prizepool. I’m not saying you are a thief. I’m saying if you did this with friends then it amounts to theft.
1111th May 2020 at 7:21 pm #98019Cheers for the info, I thought it would be shady to do something like that, I always felt I was against teams when I played, kind of nice to know they try and keep it legit.
Unrelated, but I can’t find the “de-activate account” button/option on here, I’m back at work this week and I don’t have any social media active when I’m working, so how do I close this account, is it possible??
Seedy, could you close my account please (Ban if have to, I don’t mind mate), I’m gonna resume my lurker status. Nice to talk with you people though and stay safe people…

1112th May 2020 at 7:17 am #98042Yes, it’s breaking every poker sites ToS, it’s breaking every moral law there is, but ilegal as you could be taken to court, no, don’t think so.
As soon as a poker site find out, all accounts would be banned but I highly doubt there is any LAW against it.

13th May 2020 at 4:18 pm #98161Poker players can be part of a team casino, for instance they can be sponsored pros and wear all the gear or have badges on etc, but they are all playing their own game. I could get a sticker made for backinamo.com and dish it out to a few players at a live tournament but it would be merely a form of advertising the site, and players would not take part in any team collusion.
What you could do is set up a Private poker league for backinamo players and only members can play against each other, which can sometimes be a more fun way of playing poker but again you would be playing for yourself only.
