About 6 weeks ago I signed up to gamstop for a year. I have to say I can now see how much money I was wasting. I love betting especially playing slots and placing football bets, but being able to save money and buy things I want outweighs the highs of betting in my opinion. Today for example I bought a budget laptop for £200; not expensive but i didn’t have to think if it would screw me for the month. Before I could easily end up spending £300 a week betting and trying to justify it. Will i bet again absolutely! But in future I’ll be sticking to one bet a week for fun and not chasing highs. I guess what I’m getting at is if you feel you’re betting too much try and take a break. Sometimes you have to fuck up before it hits home. Ps thanks to bandit as your videos keep me from wanting to spunk loads on the slots. Good luck to everyone hope somebody hits that jackpot! Or if your in bad spot to know it isn’t permanent

128th July 2019 at 5:00 pm #75321in a similar situation myself backofthenet ive been questioning for a while now about my gambling habits and wanting to step away but its not easy as you will know ive got a addictive personality if im involved with something thats all i focus on till its done but with gambling it never is done every spare bit of money i had it was going on the slots i tried woodwork but even tho you get a tad bit of achievement its doesn’t compare to the hit of a big win but recently ive decided to start up a ebay page and as funny as it sounds its my new hobbie i find myself searching for hours upon hours finding deals the 450 budget for mondays slot action has almost gone im left with 50 pound where before ide makes sure i had at least 300 to play i change my mind on things like the weather changes but this seems to be working i wont be completely come away from slots just wont be spending silly amounts anymore best of luck to you and anyone else who wants to cut down or come away from gambling
128th July 2019 at 7:14 pm #75353Very true, breaks are very very important. You can end up where it is part of your daily routine which could end up very costly. There is afew personal friends i help that have had problems who would place shocking bets every weekend that basically had no chance of coming in lol, there reasoning was to keep the weekend scores interesting. I now have them hooked on fantasy football which is free but still keeps the weekends football very interesting may be worth a try as its all free.

29th July 2019 at 5:47 pm #75676Nice to hear you got something to show for your money! I really do hope you manage to limit yourself.
I’ve done something similar… I signed up on gamstop a few months back but a while back someone posted a site on the forums that isn’t on gamstop – Seedy removed the name of the casino in the guys post but I saw it before he did and obviously being a degenerate I signed up last week.
However I realised since this is the only casino I know of that has a good selection of games and isn’t on gamstop that setting limits would actually work for once as I can’t just go sign up to another casino. So now I get my fix of gambling with monthly limits in place so I can’t do my bollocks in.
I wish Gamstop would have an exceptions rule where you could choose 1 casino to play at and exclude the rest but I realise that would kind of defeat the point of what gamstop is for.
29th July 2019 at 5:57 pm #75677As long as you stick to your limits and don’t change them at any point, I don’t see a problem. It’s your choice at the end of the day, but not sure how you will be covered if anything goes wrong, knowing most of the UK sites are covered by gamstop. Surely this means they’re either not licensed by the UKGC? I don’t know, just want you to be careful and not get screwed over 🙂

Thanks for the concern WB 🙂 x
I believe they are licensed by UKGC if I click the Gambling commission logo below it takes me to a gov.uk page although I could be wrong.
It seems to be a legit site but obviously if they ever end up burning me then I’ll self exclude from the site and changing my limits would take a month to come into effect I believe so that should save me from tilt changing it.
