If casinos promote responsible gambling why don’t they all have a lock withdrawal option? I think it should be compulsory, especially if they are a gamstop registered casino.
What’s your thoughts?
I’ve not done it this time, but last year when my gambling addiction was severe, I lost a lot of money through cancelling withdrawals. Some casinos the money is sat pending for 2 days with a cancel option next to it. It’s disgusting.
Can you please share the names of casinos with lock withdrawals? I’m going to join a couple and exclude from the others as I feel this was my biggest issue.
10th September 2019 at 8:21 am #79737Its a bastard ain’t it, I know kwiff and Mr green don’t have the option to reverse at all and I think skyvegas too
Otherwise you can put yourself on a cool off period for a few days till its pended to you don’t tempt yourself, that’s what I used to do on 21casino
10th September 2019 at 8:54 am #79738Although it’s not a block , videoslots are really quick at approving withdrawals so it moves out of the reversible box really quickly …….none of that 3 day pending shit ..
110th September 2019 at 9:08 am #79739Reversing shouldn’t even be an option. But now I purely stick to casinos without it. Like williamhill and betvictor. When I use paypal I usually get paid within 10 minutes from williamhill and suits me best. Its 2019 they shouldn’t have money on hold for days
10th September 2019 at 9:12 am #79740Paddy have a Debit card you can get that’s attached to your account, have a big hit and buy crap off amazon was what I tended to do ?? Or you can go withdraw £300 a day from a cash machine
10th September 2019 at 11:50 am #79754Yeah withdrawals shouldn’t be allowed to be cancelled, But as soon as I go to withdraw I ‘take a break’ for how ever long the withdrawal sits there for and the account is blocked for that time
10th September 2019 at 12:38 pm #79759I didnt have the option to stop the reverse withdrawal function on an old william hill account but I got them to enable it through live chat. After that i just assumed all casinos could do it but it was down to hoe essy they made it
10th September 2019 at 2:16 pm #79764I get this. but there is one side you dont look at.
Deposit and withdrawal fees. Casino pay up to 7% of the total amount for deposits/cashouts. Lets say you deposit 500 and win 1k. YOu cash it out. Then you redeposit 500. That extra 500 in and out will cost the casino 70 quid. Add in their fees on game sand everything and it gets very expensive.
I hate the cancel withdrawal option dont get me wrong, but from a business sense, if you owned a casino, you would have it there and youd be so happy it was used. (I think the stats are 1 in 4 withdrawals are cancelled)
10th September 2019 at 3:21 pm #79767That’s interesting I didn’t realise it cost them money to process withdrawals. They hope people cancel withdrawal and then lose it all on a game. It’s win win for them.
10th September 2019 at 3:54 pm #79768That’s why mr green still charge for withdrawals. Only site I know that allows you to lock is casumo. Some casinos allow you to remove the reverse button through live chat though.
10th September 2019 at 4:20 pm #79770True, it costs them alot.
If you take the 7% avg payments. 15% games, platform, site, staff, Licence, fraud, legal, hosting, and then 30-50% affiliates…. you can see why they try and save the money.
12th September 2019 at 11:16 am #79890Casumo let you lock withdrawals and this is why I consider them the best casino online (obviously having a massive catalogue of games helps too)
Unibet also let’s you remove the reversal option but you can turn it back on again in the settings which kind of defeats the point.
As for why casinos don’t all follow this rule? Well most of them realise that they will recoup their losses via people reversing and know that they stand to lose a lot more money without the option, it’s pretty scummy really relying on problem gamblers to reverse so they can make more profit. Not many casinos will do it unless it is forced upon them. If Eejit is about I believe he knows on average just how much casinos make back on cash out reversals.
Understand that if there was no GC forcing these rules such as gamstop, exclusion etc upon casinos then they wouldn’t willingly offer them or comply. They don’t care about people with gambling issues. They are a business and all they care about is profit.
That is why…

only one i no of is casumo who have it and if you withdraw on sky aswell it leaves strait away and this cant be reversed sure theres more out there but i stick to a select few now lot of dogey casinos about these days and i agree all casinos should have it they count on you reversing ya money thats why they leave it pending so long

I am about. And i understand. 25% are cancelled. But… when you see the reports (I help manage a casino now) I leave the casino I help at pendnig for 12 hours. Seeing how much money it costs having players cashout and redeposit is insane. It takes you from a net profit on a month to a loss at times. I hate pending for long periods of time, and we do have a lock feature, but without leaving it there for a short time, it ends up costing a huge amount of margins. Money that can be spend on bonuses, or features, or cashback, or charity, or anything else we do.
