Β Hello everyone, I am a long time viewer of the bandit and to be honest a bit of a lurker in the forum (read the posts without never replying)
I am looking for a bit of advice where It comes to credit, I have just moved house recently and all of my money has gone into the move, I am without any money for food or transport for work for the next two weeks until I get paid again, I have a poor credit score but was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to try and secure some sort of finance or loan for two weeks with someone with a poor credit rating
Open to any ideas! Thank you π
15th May 2019 at 9:57 am #65902I am not sure where do you live (probably UK? :D) but in Germany and Poland for example, there is something called credit limit- if you have regular income then you can set it up with your bank. It means, that even of your account shows 0, you can always withdraw some extra money which will be then paid off with your income. For example, I have this kind of thing for 2000 eur just in case I need it- i hope you know what I mean, financial terms are not my strong suit in english π

I am in the UK, I bank with “monzo” and I have tried to get an overdraft from them but as they are a new small bank they have said they can’t give out anymore overdrafts+ I think they have done a credit check and unfortunately I have very poor credit due to me being an idiot what I was younger haha
15th May 2019 at 10:17 am #65910If you’ve moved, are work able to assist with a travel loan? This is something that my company offers. If they understand your full circumstances, they may advance it so you can.. well.. get there.
If you have a local food bank, they might be able to assist with food.
Alternatively, if it’s for a short period of time, perhaps family can assist?
regards
15th May 2019 at 10:19 am #65911Any friends or family who can help ? There are always the obvious pay day loans but that should be an absolute last resort. Someone like provident would probably lend you 2 or 300. High interest though. If they won’t lend you anything then your credit really is bad.
15th May 2019 at 10:19 am #65912Try provident loans, but only if you’re really struggling. I hate the thought of payday loans. As for food, could you use a food bank or lend a small amount of money from family?
Do you mind me asking where in the UK you are? If you’re anywhere near me, I may be able to take you to/from work if I’m not busy working or if it clashes with daughters nursery times.
Theres also a credit union, not sure what you have to do to lend though.
Best of luck π
15th May 2019 at 10:27 am #65914Thank you so much for both of your replies! I have been trying for payday loans but I have not been accepted, I am based in Glasgow! I will look at the provident loans and hopefully they can help me, unfortunately I don’t have any family to help me nor any friends that are in the position.
Will let you guys know how I get on with the provident loans
15th May 2019 at 10:36 am #65915I have looked at provident loans and they have said they would need a proof of address, unfortunately I don’t have anything that proves I am at that address as I have just moved in, thanks once again for all your replies and support
15th May 2019 at 10:56 am #65917I’m in Sheffield so a bit far for me to drive you to work Haha! What about a loan with guarantor? If your friends/family can’t help money wise, maybe they could act as a guarantor for you? As for proof of address, are you renting or bought? If you’ve rented, the company (blundells ect) could print you a letter off with your new address couldn’t they? Other than this, I’m lost π I tried, sorry Haha π
1115th May 2019 at 11:00 am #65918It’s okay! I think I can contact my landlord and get something arranged with proof of my address, I was just hoping to get something sorted today so I can get a shop in. But thank you for your advice !
