You posted this….
Not actually sure lol. It was a friend of my sisters moved to malta afew years back think she started working with comeon worked her way up and is now head of affiliates at globalgaming making crazy money which grabbed my attention ? So was thinking a move to malta might be possible life choice in the coming years. Again being nosey but did you already live there when you got the job or move there purely for work. Going by online searches seems to be lots of work out there
To reply in full –
Its easy to work up here, as the industry is growing so large that finding staff with training in the field is insanelyhard, so people move here and spend a year as CS or junior, then move roles after they learn how the industry works. Only legal, responsible gaming, and C-level really come from any form of background.
I moved here to work for Betsson, but they delayed so much I took a job here instead. Great choice by me, as Betsson is huge and had about 20 casinos and 2000 staff here. I work for a smaller company but the amount of work here is huge. Average starting wage for CS staff is about 25k. Account Managers 35k.
Downsides – Food isnt great and is expensive. Rent is rediculous. Weather is DAMN cold in winter.
26th April 2019 at 10:13 am #62604Thanks for the reply. I have no current experience or training in working in this field but something i regularly look at while browsing. Even moving for a year and see how or if i like it always got a place to come back too ?
As for the downsides i rarely eat and melt in the sun anyway ??

Just make sure you have some savings when you go. A lot of these companies say they’ll pay your first 2 weeks stay and pay your flights and stuff, but there are usually some conditions to this stuff, including you having to pay it back over time, and if you find out after a month that this isn’t for you, you’ll be stuck down there, as they’ll just keep your wages for flight reimbursement and shit. It’s the same with all CS jobs.
If you have the patience to be the bitch for a year, it might be a good move for you. But you have to count on only being social with the idiots you work with, who all think they’re better than you, and will stab you in the back as soon as a promotion is on the table.
Customer Service is a toxic industry. Not only do you have to deal with complaints all day long while being nice about it, you’re also gonna have to deal with the spoiled dipshits who think their shit dont stink.
Think long and hard about this before you go.26th April 2019 at 1:04 pm #62639Thanks for the advice, yeah i have afew years wages saved and tucked away. CS wouldn’t be the end goal but am quite happy to start there if need be, deal with dipshits daily at my job just now anyway so nothing new there ?? and if it wasnt to work out could just be a little holiday.
Also remember seeing about you having a stream cant remember the post, whats the twitch username so i can give it a follow and catch it 1 time ?
27th April 2019 at 11:24 am #62818I can get you a job in CS quite easily. Around 22-26k a year.
The industry here isnt toxic?! Maybe in other industries but in gaming people get on well. Loads of events for game releases to go to and it’s not a bad place.
I’d visit first. I’ll buy you a steak buddy.

Think long and hard about this before you go.Having dealt with many CS staff over the years, this truly sounds about right. Some CS are blatantly broken as far as being human goes.
in fact as a few people on here say they have experience as a CS and for arguments sake, let’s say they are good people and good CS. I’m not surprised they are upset with being treated like shit but I am also not surprised they get treated like shit simply because they struggle to realise they are sometimes dealing with customers who are not only pissed off with the service they receive but have been pushed from pillar to post, lied to, laughed at and treated like shit by their fellow colleagues.
For example, it’s not bad enough to have no or very slow internet for a month from the branson range but to realise that you are being charged for fibre broadband and receiving intermittent dial up with 6 separate sessions of calling up to resolve the issue, getting disconnected from the calls to have to call back and speak to someone else and re-explain for the third time just to get to apparently the right person for it to sometimes get disconnected again to then try again to find that person too didn’t log any of your issue and they then lie that they can’t see who last accessed your account so in total of the month you have spent about 4 hours trying to solve an issue that you have been tested for to see if it’s your fault, have not been offered any money back or compensation while you in fact work for the company in being part of solving their issue for them, possibly been laughed at and most likely lied to and know you would have snapped and hurt someone had the call taken place face to face. And… breaaaaaaathe.
Yea, some CS are scum. They know they are scum. But it pays the bills.

Worst thing for them though is everything is recorded. So if they wanted to and agreed with the customer they are probably not allowed to say what they want to say. Fortunately for me I’m talking to customers face to face and i can say what i like. It makes so much difference been able to do that. If they complain about the company 9 out of 10 times i agree with them and tell them so and if i get as we call a customer care issue i can just blagg my way out of it. So much easier you haven’t got someone watching your every move.

I had a 6 week paid suspension once for slagging off a company I was working for. Got a final written warning, used my holidays. Then quit. Free money ?

Hey, no problem, happy to help.
I know of many CS jobs here I can help with, not with my company but i have very good relationships with a lot of people on the island. So just let me know. You would have to interview, but being here and being british helps for english CS.
Starter jobs in gaming, depending on your background – Junior sales (25-30k), Junior Acc.Management (25k), CS (20-28k depending on hours company and language). Tech roles you need qualificaitons for, as with finance and legal.
Location – Most of gaming is within the major areas, Sliema and St Julians are the main sites, with Swieqi/Gzira/TaxBiex and Msida hosting the others. Valletta is too expensive (And beautiful) for many places to be there.

Hi eejit. My best friend as recently been made redundant from his casino job as a pit boss. He has worked as a dealer and an inspector aswell. He has started at the casino I work at as a dealer but feels like he has more to give but there is no progression in the casino. Could I maybe get your email so he could contact you regarding jobs in Malta? No worries if you don’t want too but I know he wants out of our casino so thought I would ask.

The problem here is that pit boss work is entirely based on training dealers, evaluating bets and watching for fraud. And being lazy 😀
None of that is part of a job in online gaming. What roles would he want to look at? I mean there are caisnos here but you need to speak Italian or Maltese also. Plus the wages in real life casinos here isnt awesome.
If he wants to work online in gaming its not the same field.
Happy to give my Linkedin profile, if i give my work email god knows what some of the haters will sign me up to 😀
27th April 2019 at 8:49 pm #6292627th April 2019 at 9:12 pm #62928Sounds like the dream job..I imagine as a Cs you don’t need to know all that much? It feels when talking to most Cs that half the time it feels like there reply has come from a script or is a copy and paste job.
What are the duties of a Cs? How long does training take? How comfortably could you live in Malta on a 20-25k PA wage, is it an expensive place to live?
I’d love to do a job like this but like you said you’d need some savings before taking the plunge.
