GamStop has recently launched their database which will enable you to mass self exclude from all participating casinos.
Visit https://www.gamstop.co.uk where you will be able to register your details, towards the bottom of the page you can view the current list of participating casinos and within hours of verifying your identity, you will be self excluded from them all.
I believe it will soon be a requirement for all casinos to participate.
1223rd May 2018 at 1:29 pm #6277With this soon being a requirement for casinos in the UK this is a great way to self exclude and is completely free. Thanks again for Ste bringing this to light!
22nd July 2018 at 9:59 pm #11880If you register with this. Then surly it tells the world, banks business and everyone I between you have a problem and thus making it even harder to get though life, branded by everyone a risk, even if your not. I’ve registered before for online gamberling but hate the way it’s not instant money if you win. I’d love to block me ever doing a bet again online (even tho I never bet or lose much) just to stop me wasting 60 quid wen in the mood to play slots But wonder what the inpact would be on my life. As like I’ve said automatically I’d be seen as having a problem and untrustworthy. If in future I want to change mortgage or get credit.
23rd July 2018 at 1:47 pm #11905@kingpab I don’t think it would be beneficial for it to have s impact or be recorded against you if you register as this is government backed as it’s quite clear if you take the step to mass self exclude your proactively trying to help yourself for the better. ?
125th July 2018 at 9:49 am #12032To the contrary; I’ve just now registered to stop myself gambling as in the process of trying to buy a house, I have the savings but my bank statements are 10 pages long filled with gambling transactions. I’m £3k up this year as well but the lenders don’t want to know with my current spend pattern, I can see why (the missus also is not happy) !! I’m taking this step as I will never win long term and I want to buy a house – mental. My mindset will be if my mortgage doesn’t go through my deposit will go up in smoke via Bonanza. This market is so saturated nowadays the only real way to have fun is by increasing the stake and to be honest I think I’m too old to playing these games… that being said I have only done a 1 year ban as I can’t say I won’t ever play them again can I….
25th July 2018 at 10:57 am #12038@nickpig30 so it’s your bank account itself causing you the issue then the thing to do is have a separate account in which you put money in to gamble from this being completely separate from your main account the mortgage people will ask for will save you loads of bother from them. But for the best pass the missus/Wife the house deposit and don’t feed Bonanza 🙂 Hope things work out on the mortgage front mate let us know.
26th July 2018 at 7:44 am #12082@seedy – Already have the separate account but they are starting to ask for records of all my accounts… I will play dumb as long as I can and not oblige but I think for a happy (easy) life a break is in order to allow us to get this rolling… still won’t stop me watching others do their nuts. Cheers will let you know, I know this type of thing is probably extremely common amongst gamblers – I never gamble with money that I can’t afford to lose (trying telling that to her indoors or the guy behind the desk though) so a mindset change for me is required… even if its not a long term thing.
26th July 2018 at 9:44 am #12087The second anything gambling is mentioned to anyone in banking, they pull the shutters down on you, that has always been my experience unfortunately and is why i find myself still attempting to save outright for a bloody house lol I mean i have paid rent for years and years of £850 a month, surely that is good enough proof on its own that i can afford a mortgage!
126th July 2018 at 10:41 am #12090Show them Mrs B’s Asda spend , thats enough to cover the mortgage on its own 😉 I can see why the banks do it, but how many of us on here wish they took the same view when asking for an overdraft many moons ago ? They seemed quite happy to chuck money at you then !
27th July 2018 at 11:42 am #12143It’s time for me to stop.
I did that most stupid of things. I gambled money I couldn’t afford to lose. There’s now bills to pay and not enough money left to pay them.
I’ve registered with the site as it has to stop now. One step on the road to recovery.

Sorry to hear you have lost your bill money, you can make use of the Gamban software if you would like to, you can read more about it here –
The software is free for 3 months with the code thebandit1981
27th July 2018 at 11:50 am #12146Everything I can use is useful. Every little helps.
The biggest problem will be telling the wife. Not a conversation I am looking forward to.
7th August 2018 at 8:55 am #12847That’s why I’m on a “ban” to get my bank records clean. It’s gone though the first step, offer accepted and promise in place so-so far so good. Some slots have gone proper donkey recently as well and the fact I had a nasty habit of £4 Bonanza spins its timed pretty well… good to luck to anyone going through this and stopping. GAMSTOP seems to have done the trick for me – I do keep “testing” it is working from time to time though. The Government should really use rent as affordability – some lettings agents and landlords can set this up on your file but year, once the G word is mentioned its a no-go. Fingers crossed.

Completely agree with the whole “rent as affordability” what better measure is there, i’ve been paying rent on time every month for amounts ranging from £700 to the current £850 for years and years and years now, there should just be a simple database that is the first call and if for some reason you aren’t on that, then the usual process comes in.
Between Gamstop and Gamban and the various other softwares about, at least there is some much needed awareness being brought to these products through sections like this, many people that need the help with it seemingly do not know this kind of thing even exists.
15th August 2018 at 11:33 pm #13627I registered with gamstop but i regret it as I’ve only found one casino I can play on now. Should of set strict deposit limits instead
