Chaps,
I’m totally risk adverse and never gamble, but have been reading up on this Matched Betting malarky. Seems that it’s more like trading than betting, with zero risk so long as one doesn’t arse up the lay bets.
Anyhow, I have noticed that many of the “enhanced” odds are on things like “Joe Bloggs scores within the first X minutes.
Looking at the betting exchanges I can see how I could bet against a team winning, there being fewer than X goals, but not how to lay against Joe Bloggs scoring within the first X minutes type bets. Is this possible at any of the exchange sites?
Thanks all 🙂

18th April 2019 at 5:08 pm #60873Should also add if you are just reading up and have not yet started dont worry about enhanced odds and boosts. Try and concentrate on completing all the sign up offers doing so will give you a better understanding of how it works and using boosts will be 2nd nature when complete. This will also give you a decent bank to take your match betting in a direction you see fit ??
18th April 2019 at 9:27 pm #60934You have sort of missed the boat, matched betting over the last year or so has really gone down hill…sign up offers are so much worse than they use to be,not as many free bet offers and ones that are still about have reduced in ammount…but there is still free money to be made..as for price boosts and the like, just advantage play them is my advice, more value in doing that than laying them off for guaranteed money, plus saves time.
18th April 2019 at 9:39 pm #60936I would have to disagree. Advantage play is indeed a valid way to go however if you are just starting out the variance in not laying such bets can see you lose your bankroll in the early stages which could be demoralizing. I would only suggest using this method when you have a big enough bankroll to be able to take the losses.
As for missed the boat you can still make 4 figures each month if you put in the time so still very worthwhile

yes you can make 4 figures…helps if have “friends”..and yes i do agree i guess if starting out and dont have a decent bankroll then laying is the way.

But from my experience its nowhere near as goodas it once was,but i must admit after first year or so of doing it i mostly switched to doing high risk casino stuff and would usually make between 3k-10k a month, casino really has gone down hill,i need to get back into sports but find it alot more time/effort to do.
18th April 2019 at 10:45 pm #60955I have only been doing it about a year or so, when did you start? Have seen many mentions that it used to be alot better couple years back, i just got started late due to my own ignorance. I do take on alot of the high risk offers but often take long breaks so i dont get ‘sucked’ in ?

I suspect you are right about not being able to lay the enhanced odds stuff. I did consider that after only two days of research, the betting shops probably know more than I do about their business :).
I’m going to take the plunge though, starting with coral. They do a good £5 and get £20 in bets. I can see how to get started, but am more unclear about how to keep making a monthly profit following the sign-up offers. I’m not greedy, am prepared to lay a good amount of Mug bets to stay off the radar, and do have spare time enough to put in the work.
Apart from a couple of spins on a pub fruit machine a few years ago, this will be the first I have ever “gambled” so am quite nervous about the whole business.
Any advice, particularly about how to keep the profits going after sign-ups would be very welcome.
Thanks 🙂
