That’s all great advice but I had a similar situation before and found attacking ice cream men was quite an easy way to make money…. Ok before everyone jumps on me saying it’s morally wrong and against the law I know I know.
that aside the summer months are coming and my mate Tugboat has the ice cream van schedule as he’s always chasing him down the street.
let me know how it goes and what your weapon of choice is
And these ice cream vans will be loaded with cash once lockdown is lifted I might come and join you , gave me a good laugh reading that
I’m not joking mate, that Pig? I know Tugboat said he always gets hundreds and thousands so I guess it’s a gold mine….
I could definitely do with the support though as I was told once Togboat got beat up by some kids who had also targeted mr whippy…. that’s his real name I’m told.
please leave contact details if anyone is wanting to support me in this smash and grab plan ?

It looks bad but if you promise now will you fall off the wagon so to speak. I worked as a financial adviser for my sins. But they don’t really help. My advice for what it’s worth. Firstly when you get paid pay your bills immediately online. You can pay rent phone Internet connection and just about everything straight away bar food probably. Then it’s gone and you can’t spend it. Stop gambling obviously. But if you can’t then set a budget. Most sites you can limit yourself. Just have one place to play if you need to. Ban yourself from the others. Limit per month on the one you choose. Keep away from the bookies. Licensed bandits. Sorry for the pun. But most of all…. Be honest with yourself. Tell your wife and best friends. It’s tough but they can help you keep straight. The best thing is to ban yourself by exclusion. Do it. Good luck mate.
4th May 2020 at 10:47 pm #97258For anyone who’s been interested in an update… here’s the story so far.
– I spoke to GamCare and registered for GamStop
– GamCare have put me in touch with a company who offer counselling who I’ve had the initial call with and they’ve booked me in for a session.
– I finally gathered up the bollox to tell the missus, she just said “F*ck off” and immediately stormed out in the middle of the night and didn’t come back for a good few hours, I was then made to sleep on the couch, before being kicked out the next day (despite being in lockdown… not ideal, but luckily I have a good friend who has took me in and put me up for a bit.
Now just to wait and see – but I really feel like not gambling again isn’t going to be a struggle, I’ve had no desire or urges to gamble at all!
5th May 2020 at 9:42 am #97327Well …. could have been worse…sure the mrs will calm down, especially if this is the only bump like this you’ve had .. what bio said about stepchange is solid advise, my brother In law works as an advisor with them and they have quite a power over financial companies, the only thing to add is ( If your first comment is true, and you are normally carful and you have the finance coming in ) then all companies have a vested interest to protect you, and although not ideal, they can show more sympathy to someones financial situation, (I wouldn’t go around spreading you list your wage because of gambling …. just have a dialogue with them …. you’ll find them easier to talk to than you might have thought …….. ps anybody suffering financially do what @biohazard suggested have a look at stepchange ……really is a great organisation…….
