Just seen on twitter that TGC (The Gambling Commission) has introduced new laws today (Tuesday 7th May).
Mainly based around how casinos verify both age and Identity of players who play at their casinos. It also seems to be aimed at the remote gambling side, so I assume that’s online or anything which is basically not land based.
What do you all think of this? How do you think Casinos will implement this and is it better for everyone?
My views: Anything which makes KYC stuff easier is good in my eyes. This looks like it will have to be done either on sign-up or before deposit, so it takes the long delays of withdrawals untill your documentation is verified out of the equation. TGC seems to be finally getting on the ball with some of this stuff.

Is there any documentation floating around that you could link me to please?
Thanks in advance.

If the casinos follow these changes to the letter and “promtly” allow us to withdraw our winnings then I can see only good.
It should have been an industry standard to verify age of player at account creation looong ago.
Top stuff. Thanks for posting.

7th May 2019 at 4:15 pm #65183Another big thing that this doesn’t really spell out is..
If your compulsive, like I used to be. You may have deposit limits, and when these are all used, you might want to sign up to other casinos to get your fix.
This in theory should give you a ‘cool off’ as verification won’t be instant?

7th May 2019 at 4:28 pm #65187Yea but like I said when THESE are ALL used.
I would use deposit limits on all the casinos I used. Problem was, I used them all, then signed up to more. Thankfully that’s past me.
7th May 2019 at 5:08 pm #65191It’s entirely possible to verify all your details electronically and automatically so depending on uptake of those services by casinos it’s not necessarily the case you will experience any delay at all in depositing and playing once you’ve registered your personal and card details.

Good to know. ?
7th May 2019 at 8:46 pm #65220Looks like it’s a step in the right direction, I know dazza g posted a video on YouTube about it and from memory happens to think that the verification will hurt players in the long run due to less casinos bonus offers etc. Not sure I agree with him on that but he need some interesting points.
7th May 2019 at 8:46 pm #65222Ahhh finally I can talk about this. We weren’t allowed until its launched.
This is 100% good news. Finally!
