So after been placed on furlough from my boss i was expecting to get paid today ( every fortnight)
To my fucking horroh found out not till end of the month, obviously like most of us i live from payday to payday i wanted to know if anyone else is in the same situation and if theres anything for us to do or anywhere we can apply to get some of our money now? Cheers guys stay safe7th April 2020 at 4:17 pm #93214One of the guys in my building has the same issue, they’re only doing it monthly apparently so if your used to weekly it leaves you fucked for weeks.. You’ll obviously get the months worth of wages minus 20% is there anyone you can borrow a few quid off to get you through?
as all the pubs and shit are closed it’s easier to live cheaply.. Except gambling obviously
7th April 2020 at 4:32 pm #93218Yea deffo does leave us in the shitter, i dont mate but we have enough to get by as long as kids got what they need, the misses will have to keep me lmao
7th April 2020 at 4:43 pm #93222I think it goes on employer.
I’m on furlough and still getting paid weekly as they’re still enough staff (i guess) in the payroll department to run this through.
So maybe they’ve cut down the amount of staff in payroll so need to go to monthly.
Although its a pretty dick move, should of at least told you first
7th April 2020 at 4:47 pm #93223It’s not great, with Mrs Xbob off with no maternity pay as well it’s really hard at the moment for us. We’re lucky in a way, I saw this happening and hammered the supermarket filling the cupboards ?
I really haven’t got any suggestions, apart from asking your work for help. Stay safe and try not to worry too much. Hope you get it sorted soon ?
7th April 2020 at 4:54 pm #93224Yea deffo is hard times, they dont get the money from the goverment untill the end of the month so as ive done no work im not actually getting paid from my boss hopefully theres a job to go back to, as its a small company we are subcrontractors and the contractors we work for are closing there sites so im not even sure how long this will go on for, 80% i can live off and pretty greatfull that they are doing this for people its just getting there, ill deffo be doing the same mext month xbob ?
7th April 2020 at 5:12 pm #93225I imagine that’s the case, if the company can afford to carry on weekly and get reimbursed by the the gov that’s sound but if they can’t their employees have to wait for the government payment
I’m very grateful too 80% won’t leave me fucked, if it was the standard £90 a week I would truly be on my ass
Hope you get sorted dude and you Mrs xbob baby donut and @xbobmad are all sound x

If you work for a small business that is struggling anyway, and if they aren’t taking any money because they’ve had to close, I can’t see what law says they will have to help if there’s literally no money there to help with??
Honestly though now isn’t the time for arguments, just remember each situation is different ?
Stay safe everyone, and enjoy your Bandit Foursome ?
7th April 2020 at 6:52 pm #93240Thats it xbob i imagine my boss will have to put some of his money back into the business after all is done i dont know how it works for employers, muir maybe you have been paid your “week in hand?” Or maybe youre lucky and your employer is fronting your wages until they get the grant from the goverment,
cherish the time with your familys and stay safe
8th April 2020 at 5:25 am #93273Furlough is good if you are PAYE, but spare a thought for those who are self-employed and don’t have a whole year of tax receipts. They get nothing but Universal Credit, and we all know how long the government will take to process those, especially with the increased load on the system.
If you are working for a small business and they are struggling but still paying your salary out of their own pockets while you are at home, please consider the morality of pumping the money he or she is paying you into online casino’s while they are trying to keep the business afloat.
8th April 2020 at 7:22 am #93279I’m self employed, last pay was 2 weeks ago. All sites have closed down, government help doesn’t come with the 80% thing till end of June and universal credit won’t pay anything untill may 4th.
Fantastic ?
