Tiny tiny milestone guys but I gave up all forms of gambling the day I went back to work after Xmas and New Year (6th Jan) and am now a whole complete month without a bet/spin for the first time since I can remember.
The urges are of course, ever present although they are fading more and more by the day. My finances are starting to get back into a better position although nowhere near out the woods yet, and most importantly I’m feeling a lot more upbeat, a lot more encouraged by the future and also a tiny bit proud of myself.
If anyone’s considering giving it up, if it’s causing any sort of hardship in your life, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s extremely difficult but it’s absolutely a winnable battle guys.
All the best ??

6th February 2020 at 7:50 pm #90503Your analogy isn’t quite right I’m afraid. If I had went into a casino to tell of my month off gambling that would maybe be more accurate.
This is a forum to discuss gambling, including its high and lows, and somewhere that people come for a number of reasons including morale support, it isn’t a place to actually carry out gambling. Decent attempt though ???
6th February 2020 at 7:53 pm #90504Congrats on being 1 month gamble free! The urge will soon slowly fade, and make it a little easier on you. It won’t ever fully go, but hopefully, it will fade. Do you feel better for not gambling, and also have you noticed a change in how you manage your money? Congrats again 🙂
6th February 2020 at 8:24 pm #90508Yeah WB, feeling great today knowing it’s a wee milestone. Still totally miss playing slots, FOBTs and sports bets etc but like you say hoping they urges fade away to almost nothing.
Thanks for your kind words once again x

Fuck off

another analogy for you since you love them. A man joined a book club and turned up every week to tell everyone they were in the wrong and wasting their time for reading books and joining a club about it. Everyone ignored him and carried on as usual, no one could work out why he still bothered coming and the irony is that it was him wasting his time.
Well done OP keep up the good work
6th February 2020 at 9:22 pm #90520A point we do agree on is one of good luck to the OP, I truly hope you can keep it up.
7th February 2020 at 12:53 am #90535Well done and get on gamstop, once it is took out of your hands even more weight is lifted.
17th February 2020 at 5:04 am #90536Ive been 3 months now and the urge to gamble has gone. Mostly down to the streamers so i can watch the slots and resist putting money on and losing. All the trolls who give the streamers shit dont realise how much they actually help people so if they get 1 pound or a million it dont matter to anyone so let them do what they do and if the content isn’t for you then move and and stop trolling people.
116th March 2020 at 7:01 am #91931Two months gamble free now ???
The second month has been a LOT easier than the first. Still getting urges all the time but nowhere near as strong. Dreading Cheltenham coming this month as I always have a good go on the horses that week but determined to stay off it. If I can get past Cheltenham there’s nothing to stop me long term.
All the best ??
