Yes loved both the jpm machines,i also loved Line up and Superline deluxe to name but a few.
Line up was the first machine I ever played. I was in Malta with my parents during the World Cup 1982….8 years old! Was in the arcade to play pool but the lure of the flashing lights…..I was hooked. Machines were much more fun in the 80’s and 90’s. So much play for your money too. ?
Yes patty machines were load better in the 80s 90s,I know we didn
t have graphics but you seemed to get more entertainment from them, Nowadays since the introduction of FOBTs it
s all about money,Played all through early 80s and all of the 90s probably down about £500 in nearly 20 years of playing fruit machines.Down well over 500x that in last few years playing FOBTs alone and not nearly as enjoyable.
111th May 2019 at 2:17 am #65545Back when i was playing… monty python and holy grail was great.
The first game i ever got addicted to was a 5 quid jackpot called lucky strike or something? You got the board with numbers, collect 4 for bonus, reach 9 for board. Go around the board and it usually died first press, but you collect either nudges, cash strikes, or win spins or features i think or something else. Cant remember it for sure but i loved that game. “Crazy cash” was 2nd to top feature, always paid more than JPK repeater.

I found the introduction of the Deal or no Deal machines killed the scene for me. Nearly every new machine had this formula and the gameplay just disappeared. People just forced the life out of them so for the casual player they would just take all your cash. The FOBT was a very good money maker for the bookies giving the player access to loads of slots but the big cash cow was the roulette….seen people plough thousands into them. Looks like that is about to change so I wonder what the next big thing will be.
I see the videos on YouTube of places like Mr P’s and Reelfruits with all the old machines….would love to go but circumstances don’t allow it at the moment. One day maybe….?
11th May 2019 at 7:49 pm #65604There have been a few mentions of £4.80 and £6 jackpots. They were before my time, so does anyone have any information (year numbers etc) on historic jackpots?
I remember £10 in the late 90s, then it moved up to £15 in late 1998. Pretty sure it was then because I started university in late 1998 and the changeover from £10 to £15 happened around then. £25 was early 2002 and £35 was early 2007.
Reference Deal or No Deal in the post above this post, I think the idea was ok for the first couple of years. What Bellfruit basically did was they took one of their previous Bellfruit (or Mazooma) machines and added the Deal feature to it:
Take The Piece + Deal = Classic 4-reeler
Monopoly 2003 + Deal = Can You Beat The Banker
The Royale Banker + Deal = The Dream Factory
Getting Ziggy With It + Deal = What’s In Your Box
Any Games Media (e.g. Juggling Jackpots) + Deal = The Power Five
In 2009, was no longer early days for Deal machines. The jackpot doubled to £70 and the Deal machines and non-Deal machines started going downhill.
114th May 2019 at 11:27 pm #65874I remember being 9 or 10 in the social club and there being a slot I believe called blackjack. 10 or 20p a spin and a 100/250 jackpot respectively. I loved the way the high low gamble would flip over every card and I’m pretty sure you could gamble every single win up to the jackpot. Seen a guy lose absolute hundreds on it and this was going back 20+ years ago.
Off the top of my head that’s the only machine that sticks off that was great.
1119th May 2019 at 5:47 pm #66298I made fortune on super hold cheat on cops and robbers jackpot every time bandit
219th May 2019 at 5:57 pm #6634319th May 2019 at 6:40 pm #66344Miami Dice with a £4 or £6 jackpot (originally tokens but then got changed to cash thank god), Roller Coaster and Joker Poker were my favourite games. Joker Poker and Miami Dice had marked cards that would occasionally show up to help you win the gambles. Then when £500’s came out it was Reel King, Party Casino and Monopoly, and then onto the FOBT’s and roulette. God knows how much money I have put in over the years and how many of my relationships gambling ruined!
120th May 2019 at 12:59 pm #66463I like certain deal or no Deal machines but loved cops and robbers when I was younger had my 1st ever big win on it jackpot of £200 which was kinda lucky as it was my last tenner also had another great win on it when I was going to Germany on the boat via rotterdam and took 500 out of that one now I can’t seem to get any jackpots but #bandit keep the good work up on the videos and the banter you do them on there you make my day all the time when am listening and watching them
20th May 2019 at 6:37 pm #66497Showing my age now who remembers rat race, ace chase and gold mine so easy to gamble in early 80s when I was about 8 year old used to go on holiday with my parents for a week and come back with more money than I went with those were the days

I remember the machine you are on about name escapes me though, it would have been a barcrest though .had an im mode, yet some bloke always had to say” your invincible their mate” what gave it away was it the big flashing logo or the lights rotating around the board lol. one chav tried to “buy a board” off me err no ty.
Best game was spiker the biker. loved seeing people get a four first roll, then collecting 2 pounds lol( 4 to question mark first roll was im) . one guy used to hammer it full of money, me and a friend used to wait for him to go broke then jump on it. normally it would have been morally wrong to virtual rob the guy but he was a total cunt so we felt no guilt taking his 150 pounds out of the machine, the same guy always dumped his kid in play park for three hours then played the machine. wife caught him one day she was pised off, with good reason ..
31st May 2019 at 10:39 am #67609High Spirits, is definitely one of my favourites. Was it whisky galore that was the top feature?
31st May 2019 at 4:50 pm #67660do you remember the Italian Job game, think it was jpm, maybe barcrest. you had to get three minis and find the best sequence ie left button right middle etc….
