I’ll start by saying Paul seems entirely genuine and a nice fella to boot. He does a lot for charity and has a young family to keep and I have no animosity to him whatsoever. I watch his streams, he’s a funny guy.
However, the streams returning now while the virus and lockdown have struck just look like blatant opportunism to me. Am I wrong or are we seeing streamers trying to cash in on people at home having nothing else to do?
28th March 2020 at 10:32 am #92500Am I wrongYeah, you’re wrong. Go on his YouTube channel and watch his updates while not streaming ?
128th March 2020 at 11:22 am #92503Yeah rolla been transparent about why he isn’t around recently … the virus came when rolla was restarting not he restarted because the virus happened…….
but equally the office/equipment they use is a computer at home …..so if you’re locked down, then doing your job becomes easier …. I’m presuming ( for example ) most you tubers will be making more content than usual, because they are home … its a positive to the lockdown , and we’ll demand more content because we are home…
but I think that boredom gambling will grow these next few months and We will begin to see post reflecting this on this forum with people making bad choices ….
28th March 2020 at 1:02 pm #92510He moved house and put the money he would have usually streamed with towards that. It just happened that he came back just before the virus started to get as bad as it did. Paul is a good person from what I’ve experienced, and doesn’t deserve a bad name.
People are going to gamble if they want to. The only difference is that they will be at home in their comfies rather than in a bookies. I don’t think many are easily influenced by a streamer.

Agreed about RockNRolla, but streamers do influence people, that’s why they exist and why casino’s pay them. You Tube streamers do it for money, not because they are kind hearted entertainers, no matter what they say they want you to take up gambling so they can get their income. And with people stuck at home with less money the affiliate gang will rake a bit more in, especially with the bookies closed
128th March 2020 at 10:03 pm #92529They attempt to influence, but how sure are you that it works? I can honestly say (like I’ve said before on here) that I’ve never been influenced by a streamer, or from seeing someone’s big win. It’s more of a spur of the moment thing. If people want to gamble, they will. I was happy to sign up with affiliate links, providing I liked the person. I’d would have preferred my losses went to someone I was getting entertainment from than it go to a casino. You know it’s going towards their family or more entertainment.
Each to their own, but that’s just my thoughts 🙂
129th March 2020 at 8:41 am #92532Honestly I’m only influenced by the games they play … not which site or deposit deals ….. captain venture was highlighted because of bandit and garden of riches and so forth ….
did it cause me to sign up ? No… do I gamble more because of it ? No …but I tend to spend the money ( i would have played any way) on games I’ve enjoyed others playing

You are right – it is down to the individual but I think more people will be influenced as they get poorer and more desperate. Normal streamers not so bad as they show losses, but some post permanent big wins. Look at slotlady on youtube and every video is called something like handpay huge mega payout.
29th March 2020 at 2:50 pm #92583I know what you mean. I just hope people have their sensible heads on whilst we are all locked down.
29th March 2020 at 9:03 pm #92613Well to play devil’s advocate or shit stir which ever you want, we are on a streamers website so we’ve been influenced to join this thru watching streams, rock n rolla does come across as good guy and I believe he really is genuine person, but he did admit for the first time he’d taken a deal to promote a casino on his streams.
30th March 2020 at 11:13 pm #92690Good to get some different views on it. I think this lockdown will be bad news for a lot of problem gamblers and will turn some casual gamblers into problem gamblers.
I’m not sure about streamers influence on that though, all I can judge is my own personal experience and if I watch them I tend to fancy a session playing, whether they win or lose is irrelevant to that.
31st March 2020 at 12:30 am #92693I think if u look at the different streamers u can tell the good ones from the bad, as an example how many times do u hear bandit promote his site? once during the video, if anyone watches chipmunks he is constantly begging for likes and subs just now, with jordan not being there ( who I think is genuine enough and likeable for what its worth) it shows how much he is purely in it to bleed people dry! rolla never seems to ask for likes or subs either, jumbo and Craig arent too bad but it’s a bit one sided for them sharing a page

Paul is the most even-tempered streamer out there. No side. Always thinks about his audience. No affiliation money – just his own money. Wears his heart on his sleeve. Doesn’t encourage any of us to gamble. Can’t really think what else anybody could do to show themselves as a totall genuine guy.
31st March 2020 at 11:05 pm #92726Streamers can certainly give people the urge to gamble in moments of weakness. It has happened to me before, a couple of years ago.
I was in a Burger King carpark on my lunch watching a Jimbo vid. He mentioned he had a sign up casino and there were only around 15-20 entrants and there was I think, 3 prizes of a few hundred quid. Before I knew it, I had clicked the link, signed up and deposited about £150 before the day was over. Needless to say I didn’t win the sign up comp either. So streamers certainly can add temptation but ultimately we are all adults that need to make our own choices in life in my opinion.
On the point specifically about Rolla, I would never in a million years think that that idea had ever crossed his mind. He’s justified why he had a break (not that he needs to of course) and seems like a cracking guy too.
1st April 2020 at 5:38 pm #92782Was it the fact that you wanted a chance to win the draw or you just fancied a gamble?
