The fact that RTP/Profit governs random. I say it does, you won’t.
Because I don’t understand what you mean by that. RTP and random aren’t incompatible or at odds with each other, which is what the dice example demonstrates. Every roll of the dice is completely random, but the RTP in the design of the payouts still ensures a net profit over time.
Is there something about that you disagree with, or am I not understanding what you’re saying? Obviously in any game with a theoretical RTP of less than 100%, the player will lose some money in the long run. But surely that’s not a controversial point? I mean, that’s literally just how gambling to a house edge works. It’s how casinos don’t go bust.
10th February 2019 at 11:41 pm #47958I have to say, I am equally confused here. On the one hand, it feels like we all actually agree with each other on this topic, but on the other, I can’t actually make sense of it!
Random has a control mechanism in the form of the law of averages. @Gunner articulated this well in his initial post – if we do 1,000 random coin tosses, there is a point where we know we will not deviate further in the variance between heads and tails.
RTP works in essentially the same way, but rather than being 50/50 (100% RTP), the casino takes a cut of, normally, 3 to 8%, resulting in an RTP of 92 to 97%. All that means is, in the programming of a slot, the expected return to the player over millions and millions of spins, is £0.95 out of every £1 (at 95% RTP). But I would never, ever, define that as rigged. Random is still the cause of outcome on any spin.
10th February 2019 at 11:46 pm #47961I give in. I have defined rigged, they are rigged to the RTP which is the boss and random is a slave to it. The end.
11th February 2019 at 12:35 am #47970Well after all these posts today. The disagreements, the explanations and all the years gambling with all the experience I have obtained. After everything I have learnt I think I know the answer. So here it is. Click the mouse and hope for the best. ????

Amen ?
11th February 2019 at 7:10 am #47991You see Haz. Your hope is genuine, not tied to profit, not rigged.
The business model is the opposite.
111th February 2019 at 8:09 am #47994When I used to frequent the bookies I asked the manager how it works and he said the same, all fobts are linked to a huge data base where any of the millions of spins happening at that moment are picked at random to win.
Off the back of that I decided to try placing 1 pound on one number on roulette and I swear it came in roughly the same amount of times as a winning spin would with 25% of the board covered which cemented my theory that if your your set to win it doesn’t matter what the odds on your individual game claim to be but rather the odds from the whole network.
Might have worded that badly lol but I think it makes sense

11th February 2019 at 10:47 am #48015I think I can feel my brain dribbling out of my ears after reading this post. Think I understand it tho, interesting indeed.
