Just realised your username is pandas . And you posting about royal panda closing ?
8th January 2020 at 6:02 pm #87872I’m with Royal Panda and I had the same email. Interestingly, the bottom of my email said:
“Royal Panda is licensed and regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), and is incorporated under the corporate license of LeoVegas Gaming p.l.c.”
Does that mean they’re the same owners as LeoVegas?
What are the main decisions / implications of an online casino leaving the UK market? My other online gambling site is Video Slots, and my quota is £50 per month on both Panda and VS. So when Panda goes, I will probably increase my limit on VS to £100 to keep my gambling spends at the same amount. I’m not interested in signing up to any more gambling sites. Just keep it as the one now.
8th January 2020 at 7:31 pm #87877I think it’s something to do with the UK regs getting more strict. Eejit will be able to help better with this 🙂

I can help with this!
1 – Its owned by Leo Vegas. They purchased them a couple of years ago for 60mil – https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2017/10/24/1152641/0/en/LeoVegas-enters-into-agreement-to-acquire-gaming-operator-Royal-Panda-obtain-debt-financing-of-EUR-100-million-and-adjusts-financial-targets.html
2 – Main issues are tax. The tax on player wins went up, and on payments. So the market got 3% more expensive. AS casinos operate on about 8% margin of player losses, knocking that down to 5% really fucks some maths up for them. This is why VS lowered their RTP. Also the UKGC is known for some big ass fines if you mess with GDPR
I suggest Casumo for the UK. Great site, loyal, bonuses quite often for regulars, and the reel races are fun.
9th January 2020 at 1:20 am #87873All around affordability and tax reasons I guess. Would love LeoVegas to follow suit personally, the dirty bastards. ?
9th January 2020 at 5:52 am #87928Thanks Winningbird and Eejit 🙂
I didn’t know about the tax increase. I guess we’ll have to hold our breath now and see what other legislation his party brings out over their next 5 years in power. I think we have an annual budget this March.
P.S. this might be a re-post, as I had “ERROR: Are you sure you wanted to do that?” when I tried to post.
