I’m sure I was sane before I started modding this forum…
Now I’m not sure anymore also thanks @Haz for believing in my sanity ?????
15th June 2019 at 10:13 pm #68348I see awesomex has fully come out of the closet as a nutcase this last week. Bravo sir. I look forward to the hilarity of yourself and just basic [understanding of everything] bouncing off each other.
I think an easier categorisation would be sensible vs insensible.
P. S. Mortal engines is awful. Save yourself 2hrs.
5th June 2019 at 10:16 pm #68379@awesomex, if you’d like to start a general discussion thread for debating climate change, please do so. This is not the thread for it and I’ve already said I’m not going to hijack it for that purpose.
I’ve hijacked enough threads on here so hijack away if you wish.
Thats my queue to get the fudge outta here
Ha ha beat you to it. ?

Yeah I’ve decided I’m probably not going to do the climate change thing. I don’t know, I get bored easily so if they create a specific thread for it I can’t guarantee I won’t end up allowing myself to be baited in to it just because writing about stuff and debating stuff online is (and perhaps this does make me insane) one of the ways I unwind and relax. But equally part of me thinks is it worth the effort? It’s like debating with young earth creationists; I actually did that a lot years ago and my main takeaway was that there was literally no degree of evidence which would persuade them for the simple reason they wouldn’t accept anything which brought in to question what they wanted to be true. Me, I’m a free thinker and truth seeker, I have no personal emotional investment in whether or not human activity is changing the climate, or whatever hot topic. If someone can show me through new information or re-evaluation of perspective that I was wrong about something – anything – I’ll unapologetically change my views on it in a heartbeat. It’s a good thing to me to be wrong sometimes, it means I’ve learned and grown. Some people don’t want to do that and that’s fine, but it creates the question of should I spend energy engaging with them.
5th June 2019 at 11:50 pm #68391I prefer to call myself tapped in the head, but yes, I’m insane.. my mum tells me all the time ?
16th June 2019 at 2:19 am #68399I think over 99% of the people in the west are insane. They think they’re free, but they’re living in a system that has so many rules they might as well be imprisoned. Government takes money from our wages before we even get the money ourselves, and we don’t object to it. They yell “climate change is real”, so they slap us with a few extra taxes, cus we don’t have the resources to argue. We’re told what we can and can’t do, and if you wanna try to break out, go hunt and kill your own food, you’re fined for not paying tax off of the animal you killed.
Yes, everyone are insane. We’re living in a prison cell, but we can’t see the bars, and we think we’re free.
I kind of agree with that, people are in a prison they cant see, but I also think its not just always a prison of their own making, but that they can also be a victim or product of their own environment, to follow what I’m saying read “rich dad poor dad”. four best bits of advice I was ever told are: 1. We’re all in it together. 2. your name and word is everthing 3. Its better to be alone than with the wrong person. 4.and you reap what you sow.

Im a bit nuts possibly bi polar with my mood swings and constantly being up and down but I’d like to think I’m a nice guy, most times anyways.
haha nice 1 does it it make crazy that I like this? I like what the rapper is saying and I had a friend with bipolar who is really clever and listens to this sort of thing as I do I occasionally, but he doesn’t tell people that he believes it cos he doesn’t want to be labeled a tin foil hat guy, instead he projects those ideas on to others for satire sake and irony to see how others react to the contemplation and suggestion of the ideas, lol. funny thing is even though artists provoke and spark up these debates they use it as a tool to make money out of the capital world that they are berating, would be interesting to see what they spend their money on. don’t think they are quite in the same zone as 2pac as their end game, i.e. bigger game – they got money for wars but cant feed the poor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tc8N9d6SKQw

6th June 2019 at 11:36 am #68427@argyl53 I think you’re right, these things can’t be left unchallenged. People often have these half baked ideas due to their small circle of friends or family influences. I’ve personally debated lots of conspiracy theorists in my time and have a similar takeaway. My own working hypothesis is that some people have a hole they need to fill, a need to believe something.
Religion and conspiracy theories are very similar in this regard, you can’t prove a negative. Theres nothing to say that I’m not hooked up to the matrix being used by aliens as a battery cell or that the world is flat or that I was created by God to expose conspiracy theories as the pish they are and enlighten people to the true path. Other than the balance of probability and my own experiences. If any of those things are true what would actually change in my existence on this planet? Nothing. Which is precisely what makes CTs/religion so enticing to some people.
It gives you a sense of inside knowledge, of a band of brothers fighting the true fight, that you are somehow special because you watched a YouTube video that told the truth that they are trying to hide from you. Haha..
Tl;Dr – its important to challenge nonsense when you hear it otherwise people will think it’s acceptable to speak it. It’s important to challenge yourself on your viewpoints so that you can continue to learn. Being wrong is only bad if you refuse to learn and grow.
