I usually use Paypal to send Xmas money to family in the UK but was wondering if anybody knew of any cheaper ways they have used.

I use transferwise if I’m transferring money between countries. Cost me like £75 to transfer £20,000. It’s only a few pound for small transfers, and it’s pretty much instant. Don’t know what it costs on paypal

From your bank account in Canada you should be able to send a SWIFT payment to a UK bank account – transfer from the UK out range depending on the bank but is normally £20-£30 per transaction irrespective of the amount.

your bank in Canada would confirm the charge for you

If Paypal in Canada has the same terms and conditions? You can send to friends and family free of any charges. You pay a fee if you pay through their services option which it is automatically set to, just change it to friends and family

Thanks for the suggestions. Bank transfer is a no go as charges both ends, other banks may vary. Paypal, charges and hikes exchange rates but cheaper than western union (which I would never use anyway).

Skrill, I am unsure with as it is I believe for UK only, somebody correct me if I am wrong. This would be a great option if possible though or idebit.

So far it is looking like Paypal as usual.

I’ve been using this new [well to me] App called Much better, you have to link whatever account you wish and same on their side too. – you can send to friends and casinos in seconds and cash outs happen super quick; then less than 24 from “Much better” to my bank via e-transfer; cuts out another middleman being Canadian as well

But “Much Better” is superfast, goes right to phone; Sure you are aware watching streamers cash out and how quick is looks, compared to our choice of 5 day transfer from Malta – this takes hours.

First withdrawal – Rizk to Muchbetter [Request to approved and on phone –  20 mins]; then interac from much better to my bank account was 5 hours.

You are right. I just guessed it was because Casino’s don’t give me that option for withdrawals for some reason. When I ask a Casino I am just told it is not available in my region
