Would it be more difficult for them to instigate legal action because they are based in Gibraltar ?

116th May 2024 at 4:15 pm #140538I have never heard anything more about it.
Guess they saw sense in not throwing good money after bad attempting to retrieve it.
9th August 2024 at 8:05 pm #142298I know this is a late reply guys sorry ain’t checked this since, basically I got more emails saying they’d reverse transfer the money, so I’d be – 20k in my bank if I didn’t have it (which I did) obviously I sh* myself so I sent it back to them in the end. I feel the whole situation was very poor. I no longer play with them as I think what they’ve done is criminal and not even had an apology given it could of easily been spent
9th August 2024 at 10:50 pm #142307but I thought you said you had paid off debts with it? How did you get it back and did you pay the lot or the lesser amount?

Not sure it was wise for you to shit your pants. 20k can be a life changing amount for many brokies. What if you had closed your account? Did you ask for an opinion as to whether they could have actually reversed it?

Ok, assuming you’ve registered your card with them and don’t have a direct debit (the DD protection scheme is slightly different), they absolutely cannot do this. You can raise a chargeback under section 12 (processing errors) and you will get the money back.
13th August 2024 at 6:20 pm #142387I’d probably have gone to the bank and cashed it. A gambling addiction is legally recognised as an illness, you wouldn’t see a week in prison you’d just have to move wisely. Give us an update man
