Ahhh Virgin Media (and NTL).
Back in the NTL days, the medium internet tariff was £25/month. That was starting in 2002. In 2006, NTL (and Telewest) got absorbed into Virgin Media. My sister became a new customer and she got onto the same medium tariff but at £20/month. When I found out, I got onto billing and asked them to explain the £5 difference. I was told that NTL customers were on an old contract. I asked them to put me onto the new contract and that indeed brought me down to £20/month. However, unlike the old £25 fixed rate, the new rate has crept up £1-£2 every year so that I now pay £38/month. Just for the internet! I wonder if I opened a can of worms when I got out of the old £25 contract, and would it still be £25 now? Anyway, I’m going to ditch Virgin soon and get into Plusnet which is the same approx. 75mbit line speed but at half the cost.
Off-topic, but I’m going to move from EE too. I’m supposedly locked in a 2-year “contract”. Contract should mean fixed rate for 2 years, then I receive a letter to say that my bill is going up 3% which works out an extra £1.40. As the Bandit would say – that’s dirty. Once that contract is up in June, I’m changing providers to O2 and will go sim-only. Everyone needs to ditch phone contracts asap as the major carriers are moving to 3-year contracts.
Customers will vote with their feet (and their wallet).
For your mobile I suggest network 3 bro, there really cheap & good Connections for pay as you go..

I’m now gonna say something that alot of you won’t agree with. And I dont really care lol.
The things I haven’t ever paid for in over 15 years.
– electric or gas…don’t think I’ve ever paid for it since was 21. Apart from when I’ve had token meters. Which is maybe 2 years.
– water….never paid ever.
– TV licence….never paid ever
– council tax…only ever paid the minimum. Yeah I owe about 15k but fuck them. Give em the minimum payments and they can do fuck all.
– bank loans about 8k from my younger years when I had a decent credit score….never paid them back.
Sky, telewest, bt. Virgin. Only ever paid the first few months and fucked them off and moved to a new supplier. They are thick as fuck. I’ve had atleast 5 accounts with sky over the last 7 years lol.
The only thing I pay for is my rent. And everything else can go get fucked.
I get paid cash in hand too so I get money from the government to help with rent. Haha Silly cunts. I’ve paid plenty of tax in the past so my opinion is they fucking owe me!
The world we live In take take takes from the little man. They try to bend and break us financially, and always hike up prices. Never pay out when we truly need it. So I am saying fuck them. If I can keep getting away with this. Then I will always do it.
I’m not saying this to boast or say this is the way to live. But I’m single with zero responsibility so I choose to say fuck the big business cunts. They ain’t ever getting my money. Ever!
Sure I have to twitch my curtain if I get a knock in the door….but its worth it.
@JB…Well said brother… Fuck them as they fuck you. And the reasons I say that is because if the employer actually paid a living wage we’d all be able to pay for everything, but as It stands the. GOV allows them to fuck the poor over and over….
