How many pensioners, young people, shops have been violently robbed to fund gambling addictions ?

While a victim is recovering and reporting the incident, if they have indeed lived to tell the tale, proceeds are more than likely sucked up by greedy fobts making lots of money for the bookies and arcades.
Sometimes the perp is caught. “And where is the money you stole while you gave Edna a black eye and broken arm ?”
The bookie won, the victim gets nothing back.
The whole thing in regards to the victims money or items of value is swept under the carpet. Publicly undocumented.

Sure, that money can go elsewhere, drug dealers, footwear shops, whatever.

I just wanted to get this off my chest. What a wank situation.

Have to agree – gamblers are in the main just going to eat beans on toast for a month, heroin eats away at the brain and they can’t function without it.

on the whole I would say most gambling thefts are family or friend related.  Can’t see many people mugging Edna for a couple of spins on the FOBT

When my gambling was complely out of control I had to turn to shoplifting a couple of times.. Not to make money to gamble but for food because I’d lost all my money gambling ? my most shameful times..

Drugs are much worse for pushing addicts to crime as they’ll do pretty much anything to escape the withdrawal symptoms.. Especially smack heads

Sadly here in NZ drugs specifically meth is a real problem here.

Crimes are mainly commited or attributed to meth addiction, these crimes and almost always burglary, shoplifting etc

When it comes to gambling it usually always involves fraud.Sad really cause I’m the long run there are no winners.
