Like I said bud, if they can DNA test to the point of wanting passport selfies and colossal bank statements with proof of income over a period of months then surely they can have an independent service (as an industry) that could verify if a player has just ruined his or her life and left three children with no food. They could pay the money back and the industry could 100% ban them. If you have to DNA test to walk in a virtual casino, you should have to DNA test to walk in a bookies so staff know exactly who is who and who is suffering vs who is able to tolerate or control their gambling desires.
Again, I’m not saying this is what they should or would be expected to do but they are preaching safe gambling and taking absolutely fucking huge profits in ruining lives, smashing up families and people dying as a DIRECT result of profiting from the addiction they are FORCED to say they don’t like so why not call all of them out on it.
The average drug dealer doesn’t care who their crack kills or lives & families it ruins. In the grand scheme, I can’t see a difference on the suffering side.
Counselling is a gamble in that it may not work. insulting them doesn’t help either (no pun at you). There seem to be some people who think that because they claim they can control themselves, they have a right to insult those who don’t. These people shouldn’t be allowed a voice on these matters while they think so crookedly.
22nd April 2019 at 9:07 pm #61703Bottom line is though yes they can do more. Will they do more. No. Staff at the bookies were meant to refuse problem gamblers on fobts if they felt they had lost too much in a session. Have i ever seen anyone been refused. No.

Which is why I have been trying to advocate these debates. While I have the strength I will always want to find a way to support those who can’t support themselves. While these scum companies ignore the trail of damage in their profitable wake, we have to challenge them to clean up and do it properly.
Which is why I find “when the fun stops” a bare faced insult. For starters……

and there it is….. the genius of working solutions.
Hey gambling industry, next time there’s a gambling related suicide risk and police are trying to stop the jumper from leaping to his or her death, get them to shout “YER A CUNT”.
geez, can someone have a word with rbreen.

Regardless of what you think. You can’t change their policies. You can keep saying your point over and over but deep down you know what you say or think will make no difference to the online or high street gambling world. That’s the truth of all of this. I’m afraid it’s a bitter pill your going to have to swallow. If you think they can do more then it may be worth sending a few e mails direct. Personally i don’t think it will make the blindist bit of difference. Don’t mean that to sound harsh as your intentions are only good.
22nd April 2019 at 9:48 pm #61715Haz, you can trash all you want, it doesn’t make you any more right than I might be. You know where we’d be with that give up mentality right ? You keep doing this.. trying to prove a point by using phrases such as “the bottom line”. Did you not see me use the word advocate ? I already know the bottom line. I clearly stated they don’t give a fuck. MVD agreed.
The next move isn’t give up. The next move is to keep on keeping on. To move nay sayers and doubters out of the way.
Those who wish to advocate real positive change have always been the bottom line. Not those who hold the reigns and treat people like slaves or such.
22nd April 2019 at 9:51 pm #61717i like that Mr. B, because that’s what I’m saying, isn’t it? I’m saying to abuse people when they’re ready to jump off a bridge. ? I like how you twist things, you’d be good at it if you weren’t such a fucking idiot.
22nd April 2019 at 9:51 pm #61719I absolutely love the videos and I think the Bandit is completely mental ? I’ve recovered 20k and 30k positions before but my heart can’t take it. These would also have been ‘winnings’ but I still would’ve been devastated if I had lost them. That’s where my attitude differs to Bandit, when I win money I then don’t see that money as winnings to splurge but rather as my money. So when I lose I’m losing my money. That may not be money I’ll need today, tomorrow or next year but it’s still not throwaway either.
That doesn’t make Bandit wrong however, it just makes him different. You gotta speculate to accumulate. Other people might have a 1.6k limit they are happy to put at risk. Bandits is 100x that now but it changes nothing.

The point made was that your contribution was absolutely (that means 100%) no use to this debate. Ever heard the saying “tilting at windmills” ? google it. It’s similar to “pissing in the wind”. That’s your contribution to this whole thread. 100% pointless.
nothing twisted about my sarcastic reply to your useless reply. but I keep forgetting you think you are talking to a fucking idiot.
shall I reduce myself to your level ? yes or no.

”what do you think they should do?”
”I don’t know, but more.”
cheers for that Mr. B.
you’ve converted everyone.

I’m not saying I’m either right or wrong and I’m not saying you are either.

Although I agree that more can be done in certain areas (and I believe this transition has already begun with the additional and rigorous KYC checks that have been introduced), I could not disagree any more with the statement I’ve highlighted in bold.
I don’t think under any circumstances a casino should refund a player because they’ve spent too much. Why? Because actually, I’m absolutely certain that this would only encourage irresponsible gambling. Think about it… if you’re considering whether to deposit your last remaining funds after a tilt session, and then you realise that if you do, and can’t afford food, the casino would just bail you out, why wouldn’t you do it? It’s a no risk situation for you.
I can understand your point about a ban following that so that you basically have only one chance at this, but there are both downsides and workarounds to that also. I just don’t think that is anywhere close to a good solution.
That being said, it’s a suggestion, so don’t think I’m just here to shoot you down, I’m not, I just have quite a strong opinion on that particular statement on this topic.
Personally, I’ve always been a believer of self-accountability. It’s certainly the way I’ve lived my life, even during incredibly hard times. However, I’d like to see two things change… 1) outright ban on advertising or glamourising gambling, outside of the industry itself (e.g. on a TV advert) and 2) more counselling services readily available to aid recovery.
