Hey so I’ve decided to start gambling a little again… Noticed I was just gambling on dodgy Curacao sites, so settled on having two accounts on more trusted casinos with deposit limits and cool downs in place. Got quite lucky lately and profited about 3k, with another 1.1k pending.

I’m very self aware that I might tilt back to old ways, but I seem to be in control for now. It’s easier knowing I can play after a shorter cool down rather than hunting for new casinos every week and having risk not being paid/stressing about verification etc.

Any advice from people who have taken the path I’m taking? Am i being stupid?

Almost every addicted gambler has given up for a period, then restarted believing they can control their addiction. The fact that you are asking the question means you probably already know the answer.

The honest answer is time away from slots doesn’t  cure the issues you have with the game

realistically if you haven’t dealt with the “mental “ issues that meant you needed To step away or limit slots, then my opinion is, it is A matter of  “when “ not “ if” the train leaves the track again, it’s one of the reason I squirm when a gamstop member leaves the program and starts gambling again, because Time is good for the bank balance, but it takes more than just time to address the imbalance that caused somebody to need their help, so somebody might sit at home and say to him self “ I’m off for a year…. then all will be fixed and I’ll be able to play and it’ll be great “,  but if he doesn’t get “ help” for the emotional side of the addiction and address it, then he’s just a bomb waiting to pop……and you can see the forum is littered with comment from people who thought time was the great healer, and by waiting a year it’ll all be good, but no, the amount of members who crashed on  The first day and needed to re start gamstop Straight away should speak volumes to others.
taking a break is a good thing, but  time just isn’t enough to sort it out some issues, old habits die hard so just be aware man … sorry if this seems preachy, it’s sad seeing good people trip, I’m sure you’re switched on so good luck…

Thanks guys, given me something to think about.  Truth be told the bank is looking really good, and I’ve met someone recently which has made me really happy. I don’t want to cock things up there, and it’s weird the money I’m spending isn’t much on gambling anymore, but more on doing the things I want to. Lack of stress also helps.

I feel I’m past my initial issues that led me to gambling, but I know that can change pretty quickly and I have measures in place for it (no debit cards attached to my main account, deposit limits in place and still excluded from most other online casinos). Once I’ve received my latest cashout I’ll be having a hard think about if gambling can be a part of my Future.
