I had a couple of big wins on dreamvegas (1000) and leovegas (1400) a few days ago.
The money went in my bank last night at half 2 so i thought id stick a little bit money back on.
I went to dreamvegas and was playing my normal 2 quid stake on Primal, Wolf Legend and other megaways slots.
700 quid later i decided to go on Napoleon. Massive mistake.
I won 460 on 2 quid stake so upped them to 4, after dead spinning that whole balance i stuck another 100 in. Then another. Then another. I put 1 last 200 quid in and after playing a tenna a spin for 30 seconds. 880 dropped in.
I played 680 on a tenna and took 200. (At 8.30 this morning)
This is a massive learning curve for me.
That feeling you get waking up (in the afternoon) after a big loss is horrendous.
Genuinely makes me never want to gamble again.
I now have 1200 left off my original wins.
Devastated.
23rd January 2020 at 5:41 pm #87048We’ve all done it. Sometimes a kick up the arse like this is a good thing. The main thing is that you’re still in profit. Just keep it that way ya silly fucker. ?
13rd January 2020 at 5:42 pm #87049Well mate better to learn and still have something left than to walk away totally fucked ……
something I’ve always thought as a good practice is to take a week out when you achieve “ big win” … there’s that temptation to believe you’re going to beat the casinos because the run is in your favour, but the messages on here about the opposite happening is everywhere…..( or as my brother does, if he wins big he drops down to a smaller stake for a week or so…… and depending on the games, lower stakes games can be just as exciting ……..)
but don’t beat yourself self up to badly, it’s the “ thing “ with casino and lots of top people in here been through it ….. but obviously try and learn and put something in place for next time …..
13rd January 2020 at 5:44 pm #87050There are upsides to this. You haven’t blown the family budget for the month and you have a chunk of cash left over. This is a far better place than many of the posts on this forum.
Maybe this will give you the kick up the arse you need to stop. Just don’t gamble – ever again. If you don’t then the £1200 you just blew to get you to that point will be the best money you’ve ever spent. Think of it as an investment in your future happiness. Gambling free :).
p.s. I’ve never gambled and so don’t really understand the addiction. But ultimately it’s a choice, even though it may be very much harder than I’m making out. Gamban is your friend (I believe).
13rd January 2020 at 6:00 pm #87053Cheers for the replies. I havent told my lass. Haha. She would go berzerk.
Just noticed i withdrew another 100 so 900 down instead of the 1200 i thought i was.
To me, its a massive learning curve. Ive lost money over a big time period but i dont know what happened last night. I’m limiting deposits to a tenna a day now.
20p stakes when i do finally decide i want play again.
I watch the bandits video and he lhas some major losses that the money he loses would absolutely change my life.
I dont know how he ever goes back to playing.
I wont gamban myself. I will take this major loss and learn a massive lesson. And deposit limits should help
3rd January 2020 at 7:08 pm #87056It’s for the best, you don’t sound like someone who’s “out of control” ( I know it was a lot of money ) but it’s scared you and that’s a good thing. everybody needs that realistic breaks to stop themselves, limits, time outs and such …. some never find it and gambling is the worst, and some do … but it’s important that you want to address this, that’s a cool first step …and you’ve got somebody else in the mix as well, so your not just helping you, you’re helping her and anybody else in your circle …..so keep it cool and good luck …..
3rd January 2020 at 10:04 pm #87077At least you had the sense to stop. You could have lost all the winnings. Hope you’re feeling a bit better now its had chance to sink it. I would have a time out if I were you, or at least put some limits on 🙂
14th January 2020 at 1:12 am #87094Shit i once lost 1.6k trying to get my balance from £1,598.40 to £1,600. Been there.
