You’re not kidding. At no point is the person having this conversation with the rep, blaming the rep like the rep is the boss. Pretty sure I have already stated this in regards to blame. IE it’s blatantly obvious the rep isn’t being blamed.

I think the point is pretty clear but we seem to be sidestepping it for an issue that actually doesn’t exist.

And again we’re resorting to insults. Over something that is pretty basic to understand.

Mr B. has nothing to be ashamed of and should not attract pity or be seen as stupid in what he has said. It’s a perfectly understandable reaction when he has seen first hand the effects of gambling addiction and how the faceless establishment reacts to it.

Now sure, the casinos are businesses and it is their duty to take as much money as possible whilst at the same time paying nodding attention to “responsible gambling”. It would be naive to expect them to do any more than this. But as a punter and a normal human being with all the empathy that comes with it, it’s hard not to be angered by the situation.

I agree that Mr B should probably focus his energy into more constructive ways of changing the status quo, but totally understand his anger. Please don’t beat up on him.

Even I’m bit baffled by this one. Are you saying the staff on live chat couldn’t care less? Are you just pointing out gambling can contribute to suicides? Are these live chats making you have these thoughts? Are you implying more you be done in regards to the dangers of gambling? I’d like to think I’m well educated but there are a few of us who genuinely just don’t understand some of your posts.

I don’t think there is much point continuing this one Haz, were all a bit lost at the point of it.

Mr B, you state it’s a simple issue to understand, and you’re right – everyone here understands the issue about the effects gambling has on people and what it can lead to.

The reason the debate has gone off track is because of the way you presented the issue via a log of a live chat with a rep. In all honesty how on earth did you expect them to reply ? What outcome did you hope to achieve ? I personally don’t think you had any goal in mind, probably just on the back a losing session and went on live chat to kick off.

Dont think there’s anything more anyone can say in this thread now.

We all know that reps are lead by script and policy. We all know we are not blaming them. It is NOT their fault. Sure, they get paid a little food from it and I dare say many have quit because they don’t like it or being a little part of it. That is still NOT blaming them. We need to skip that.

So it’s a start of escalation. There’s a method here if one is to be had. The start and end reality exist and even if it was once, it’s bad but we all know it’s way worse than that. Hit the google link to gain more of an idea why this whole thread exists.

FYI – you’ll notice I posted no opinion with the chat log. I put it there as it existed without the names and without my input so people could react on it alone.

Let’s be done with the part that thinks we are blaming “the little people” and move on to the reality. Let’s do things like look at the difference between “when the fun stops, stop” and “play within your means”. Let’s also look at how a person can take the tilted road and ruin everything while a carrot is dangled in front of the donkey and the one dangling the carrot is loving it. Let’s look at the ruin and what the industry can do about it. Holding up a sign and insulting the tricked isn’t helping anything.

It’s not how I presented it, I gave it to you raw. I didn’t influence it one way or the other. Let’s focus on the meat of the debate, not the messenger.

There thread has no other point Haz. Yes, even we as players who are as strong willed as we might be, are capable of losing it all. Any one of us could be next. We are also capable of spearheading the issue. From highlighting it to advocating the industry grabs the issue for how serious it is. Who knows what else could change or be done…. I am not full of answers and this is not an easy debate. I also don’t think any other platform is capable of this debate.

I just don’t get what your trying to achieve, your posts are very disjointed and don’t really have a structured argument. Posting the chat isn’t contributing to any argument that I can see your trying to make, it just seems completly unnecessary. That’s why people are jumping on you, myself included.

From what I think I’ve gathered from your posts your wanting to highlight the fact that the casinos are taking advantage of people’s addictive personalities and gambling problems? If so, i think it’s fair to say that most people on this site would agree with that to some extent. I believe Bookmakers and online casinos do make an effort to comply with gambling commission legislation, however there is more that could be done. Rather than post these pointless threads I think your time would be best used campaigning for stricter responsible gambling legislation. This site may well be the place for you to start however there is a way of going about it, and posting a live chat transcript is certainly not it.

What the actual FUCK is this post about. I work next to a CS team here. So trust me when i say….

Customer service agents work damn hard. 40-50hr weeks in hot offices, taking on up to 8 chats at a time. You may think their job is easy but imagine the shit they get. Im looking at our current chat lists for our sites we host the CXM for, and its all over the place. You get people asking nicely why a game is down, lovely. Then you have KYC compliants, issues with logging in when people are so stupi they dont realise where to put the password, and then, worst of all, death threats.

CS agents are given death threats on average 10 times a day. TEN times. Imagine working in that environment.

There are also policies in place by casinos and licencing commissions for this type of thing. They are NOT allowed to give advice, apologise, offer any form of “guidance” as it could result in lawsuits from people. They have to refer them to gamcare, or whatever, and talk to a member of staff internally.

3 weeks ago our head of HR’s boyfriend was head of CS at a large casino, he was on chat and someone said they just took 80 pills. He called the local ambulance who got sent round to his house from the system information. They got there, the guy ended up ok. I dont know if the guy would have called ambulance himself but the CS agents are there to help people. Not their fault you gamble. If you lose you lose. I lose. we all lose. Its our choice.

Their job is hard. Dont give them shit. Ive seen people quit, walk off crying, its a painful job.

I think the op is more trying explain what gambling can do in the extreme. He also said it could happen to anyone at anytime who gambles. Personally in any addiction drugs and alcohol people can have these thoughts as well as people who are victims or crime. People who suffer from domestic abuse. People who just feel there is no way out. This isn’t just gambling this could be anything in life in general in my opinion. You know i think this forum could do with an interpreter sometimes.?

I would apologise for not being the literary scholar expected on this forum but those expecting it are clearly in no position to judge. Now, if this forum doesn’t contain the members to take this debate constructively and without the personal attacks, then maybe it would be just better to leave it as is.

FYI, if you would like me to resort to personal insults, keep on throwing them. If you think you are in a position to dictate who says what and where it is said then I think you should be logged in via either Seedy or Bandits account to do so. My house, my rules policy and all that.

This thread starts with some reality. If you can’t handle that reality, please do walk away. I’m not going to point out again that the CS was NOT being blamed, to people who wish to act like they are intelligent enough to read it the first time, never mind the fifth.

Back to the subject matter ?

Many people don’t know that Shakespear was an alcoholic.
