Lost a lot over the last week, haven’t done my bollocks in or anything – rent and bills are all up to date and I’ll survive until my next pay day, but I did lose a couple of grand of “spare” cash which I’d much rather have kept in hindsight. Fortunately half of it was just what I’d won the previous week, but it’s a bit of wake-up call in that I think I’m gonna lay off the gambling entirely until June now, let my finances regenerate a bit. Only have an active account at one casino these days so I’ve put a 30 day timeout on it. It’s the lockdown which cranked it up a gear for me; sheer boredom being stuck at home for so many hours a day, just wondering if other people are finding it harder to control themselves in this situation and if so what are your techniques to distract yourself? Think I’m gonna start sketching things again as an alternative hobby.
9th April 2020 at 12:28 am #93387It’s one of those situations like, you know, I’m not devastated, or crying in a corner because I can’t pay my rent or buy food or whatever – and I have put myself in that situation once before, I learned my lesson and I wouldn’t do it again – it’s just I feel a bit twattish about the amount I lost on this occasion because there’s not really any excuse for it other than I was bored.

Think you need to sign up to Prime Video, Net Flix, NOW TV and anything else to keep you occupied. But I know the feeling, I now work from home, but have so many hours spare now that I didn’t have before and not enough movies, but I go for walks when no one else is likely to be around and spend a lot of time surfing the net and ebay.
I’m lucky though as I find online slots boring to play, and can’t gamble cause the bookies are all closed
9th April 2020 at 9:26 am #93413Boredom makes you do stupid things, but dont be too hard on yourself. Give yourself more than a 30 day timeout, just so you can at least get some of your savings back on track. Get your head in a book or watch a series. I’ve been spending my spare time attempting to bake (absolute disaster), playing with my daughter, and going on the xbox. Disney+ has been big in our house since the release. Ive watched mrs doubtfire and some oldies so far! Do some gardening or clean the car. I think I’m going to attempt to wash my car today.. its friggin loppy ?
9th April 2020 at 10:34 am #93438It’s cool, I’m not massively upset about it and it’s not money I couldn’t afford to lose in the sense of being needed for essentials, just money I realised afterwards I’d rather not have wasted like that merely out of lockdown boredom. Think I’m just gonna take a break from any play until June. I put the timeout on the account because I don’t want to be tempted to chase the loss when I next get paid.
9th April 2020 at 11:08 am #93451I am experiencing exactly the same now argyl, there is simply nothing else to do so i turn to an online casino, it’s all well and good if i go on and win but plenty of times it’ll be a big loss eh, set some robust deposit limits, you’re doing the right thing, take care of yourself.

Great videos coming out of it on your side though! Yeah it’s a bugger, I had a couple of really good weeks where I was solidly winning, but the inevitable two day crash where I just couldn’t hit anything on any game and kept redepositing because I hadn’t had a proper session or a single bonus.
I don’t even mind losing if I’ve had a good game for a few hours out of it, the danger is when a few hundred quid goes in 20 minutes with no action, then another and another. Last session I gave over 300 spins each on ten different slots, absolutely nothing. Galling when they’re ones you would expect to hit a feature on.
You should <span style=”font-size: 1rem;”>set up a hotkey for when you’re recording, btw, I remember you said something in one video recently about the mouse not working, you know you can set up a keyboard combination like Shift+Z or something to pause and unpause recording?</span>
