So you may know on friday I wrote my car off. I say I wrote it off but it is quite easily repairable. Just not economically repairable. I was about to join a ringroad when the car in front of me just stopped. another 7 inches and i would have missed him. from right behind at 5-10 mph to me swerving and hitting him corner to corner. I was a bit shaken up as were my two passengers but no one was hurt and in over 300,000 miles of over 22 years driving, it’s my first official declared crash. Had a few wing mirror incidents, one of which was my fault, another where the corner of the house is literally in the road which is something you really don’t expect here in blighty.
He got a damaged bumper and maybe whatever happened behind it. I don’t know. I got smashed headlight, pushed back wing, rammed back wheel, obvious damage to wishbone/control arm, maybe ball joint, suspension, trackrod end or steering rack.
So I am on the hunt for another car and my budget is not great right now.
Spoke to one guy in wales, seems to have a nice car for the money.. definitely worth the maybe 100mile round trip. However, someone has apparently paid a deposit of £100 without seeing it. Doesn’t that mean if he decides not to buy it, he loses that deposit right ? Strange…..
Spoke to another guy who seems to have a car that looks good, borderline expensive for what it is, but maybe worth it. I told him I am shopping around right now as my funds aren’t ready for me just yet. Told him I had wrote my car off. He laughed and said I can’t drive for shit. Oh dear. I’m sorry what ? I thought to myself. I quoted him back, he thought I was saying it to him and claimed he can drive. Then he said “so do you wanna buy it ?” – dear god. I pointed out if I wanted to do a deal with someone, I wouldn’t insult them thinking it would help. He then asked me again… Do I still wanna buy it. In my mind, the answer was obvious. But I wanted to play.
You know, if you wanna be a cunt….. a full on no manners world owes you everything, everyone is beneath you, there comes a point in life when you cross the wrong person. It is inevitable. I’m not that person. I’m also not stupid enough to break the law. But on social media, it’s best if you wanna do bad things, you don’t then cross the wrong person while having your very identity fully open.
So I asked him : Why did you leave your home town so far away, a very nice place too, I have been there, and move to my neck of the woods ?
WTF ? he said
Bigman, who are you ? he said
Me, ? I’m me. I said
Silly boy. He said.
Take care. I said and blocked the prick. And I really hope he does take care.. because he is probably gonna get himself killed or badly hurt and someone will go to jail due to him provoking them. Or his bullyish attitude will end badly and he will win the fight, hurting someone and going to jail. Either way, ruining part or all of his life.
Just thought I’d share. 🙂 this literally happened moments before I shared here.

17th February 2019 at 9:53 am #49351Haha I’m a car salesman, exceptionally lucrative trade but, fuck me, we have a horrendous reputation…..come out of prison and u get 2nd chances in life, we are hated full stop…..sometimes justified mind u haha!
17th February 2019 at 11:16 am #49354It must be a hard business all because of the profit margin and gambles you have to take to make a living although I am saying that in regard to the second hand car market. You pay less than something is worth in hopes you can sell it for at least market value or higher. And of course, degraded by the real scum out there who are just plain evil, selling death traps, treating customers badly after purchase etc etc
Mind you, is there an sales or service port out there not tarnished by corruption… I don’t think there is.
Hat tip to the genuine ones 🙂
17th February 2019 at 12:40 pm #49366I think some blame has to be put on the arsehole owners who trade cars in at times as well though mate. People who know the head gasket is going on their car so use that shit sealant from Halfords then trade it straight in.
Someone buys it in good faith from a second hand dealer, head gasket goes a couple of weeks later then it’s the salesman who gets it in the neck.
I’ve seen some awful botch jobs in the past so someone can get rid of a car.
117th February 2019 at 12:53 pm #49371I’ve been in sales all my life and in any trade there are cowboys. You just hope the general public don’t tarnish you with the same brush.
