Further disappointing decisions made by the UKGC.
This is just going to push more and more people to unregulated and grey market casinos where they’re going to be lacking any sort of protection and responsible gambling measures at all.
The logic is totally backwards. Regulation is important, and safeguards need to be in place to protect players. However, making the experience of gambling so painful, or taking it away from people entirely is not the answer. If I was 65+ and enjoyed the occasional punt, being told that I’m too vulnerable to make my own informed decision would be an insulting slap in the face. Furthermore, I can go into a high street bookies and gamble as much as I want on a poor RTP FOBT with a maximum win cap of £500, but for some reason gambling online with a better RTP and much higher win cap, and can set up my own responsible gambling limits is an issue?
Make it make sense.
