I know a few on here are good with the ins and outs of casino terms and conditions etc.
I have a question regarding verification on LeoVegas.
I’ve been playing there since April 2018, have a net deposit of £850. Never had a withdrawal (mainly due to the reversal option that was there) untill now.
Over 70 deposits and now they ask me for ID etc while holding the withdrawal.
Its not a big withdrawal and I certainly am not depending on the money and not really bothered how long it takes. Just thought that with the new guidelines for casinos they should have had this kind of verification done before now.
Anyone clued up on this?
23rd August 2020 at 11:25 pm #103194Reading this made me check, as LeoVegas is one of the main sites I use that have never asked for docs (that I remember, certainly not SoW) since 1st of April 2018 I’m £2,554.95 down. Weird how they’ve asked you and not me. I play here a lot cos withdrawals via PayPal are done in minutes so would’ve done more than 70 deposits I believe. Often deposit £1k or £500 to do bonus hunts. Really weird how they set thresholds!!
I’m wondering about the guidelines, as I’m currently going through the process of verification with a casino I’ve been a member of for at least a year, and they’ve asked for ID and Address which I thought had to be asked for on sign-up by new UKGC rules, as they should ID you immediately and not let you play if they can’t. (I often see soft credit searches on Experian and assumed they did it this way).
They want pics of a credit card I must’ve used to deposit with at some point, even though all deposits since March have been through PayPal and so is currently ‘withheld’ withdrawal. I have the card, just seems like wasted effort and not relevant to my profile anymore, but sent it anyway, they then complained it wasn’t signed (it was, just an old card and has worn away), like they know my signature and this is somehow relevant!!

24th August 2020 at 1:39 pm #103210If done the right way, it should be straight forward but if like Casumo and they do a forensics of your whole life. It will be a shitfest.
24th August 2020 at 5:25 pm #103212I think what I am asking is are they still allowed to hold a withdrawal while asking for verification if that verification could have been done a lot sooner?

It seems they must be, though who knows as the rules seem to be interpreted differently by each casino. Currently, Yako are withholding £200 (and keep returning it to my balance after requesting a withdrawal, why not just leave it pending till verification is complete?) whilst they verify my Identification despite letting me play there for 18 months. And Asking for Credit Card details that haven’t been relevant for 6 months at least possible 18 months.
I’ve been through whole Casumo (and several other casinos) SoW check and came out okay, but this latest request is just strange at this point in time, we just have to be patient whilst they do the checks, but they have to pay.

The problem here is, it’s your first withdrawal. It’s an actual disgrace that they have allowed 70 losing deposits without a question but the moment you try and withdraw, they withhold it. I’m not entirely sure on the regulations around this specifically but I would be making a complaint and contact gambling commission aswell.

So I have no idea if they will do anything but no way a casino allows 70 losing deposits without verification and the moment you try 1 withdrawal they lock your account pending verification. I’m sure this breaks some sort of regulation somewhere. Gambling commission can advice you further. Also make a formal complaint with both the casino and GC.
28th August 2020 at 3:22 am #103334Both Casumo and Leovegas have released a withdrawal for me while awaiting verification in the past month. Casino was £1800, Leovegas was £700. Both would not let me withdraw after this until verification was completed, which took a further week.
9th September 2020 at 12:06 pm #103604Similar for me, deposited about 70 times , had a loads of withdrawals but now they’re asking for I.D, and withholding one withdrawal , what I’m wondering is if I refuse and ask them to close my account would I get the withdrawal, I’m just not bothered about the site either way.
