17th August 2019 at 10:21 pm #768537th August 2019 at 10:23 pm #76854Ok so the point of my post was this..A while back the footballers of my era would be advertising Road Safety,a new hair product or a new sports drink, etc etc…Young people who aspired to be like these guys copied their idols… and because John Barnes was drinking lucazade SPORT (not just any old Lucozade anymore, oh no, this is lucazade SPORT) then every footballer suddenly had pouch of the new and latest sports superpowered softdrink that gets to your thirst.. fast. when they played on a sunday morning.
In this day when millions of kids watch these professionals and aspire to be like them…Do you think its MORAL to advertise Gambling Casinos to people of such a young age ? Do you think society is going in the wrong direction if players get youngsters hooked on a potentially addictive lifestyle before they have the ability to make coherent judgements in their lifes ?
Thanks for the constructive feedback obviously I came to the wrong place.
7th August 2019 at 10:24 pm #76855Don’t wanna slam this lad for his post but it is pretty daft let’s be honest I know what point your trying to get across but it’s pretty ludicrous tbh but a suppose you’ve made the forum have a debate of some sort haha
7th August 2019 at 10:30 pm #76856Kids don’t really know about gambling or anything unless you have a relative who does gamble even then I still don’t think a kid would could potentially be hooked, just from me personally my dad and uncle gamble and my other uncle has his own gambling business Johnny Ridley’s and yeah I started when I was 10 years old but like a few horses and that was it and I loved it but I wasn’t allowed to gamble that much it was only when I turned 18 I became hooked so fair point mate but just my opinion I don’t think it’s promoting kids and youngsters to gamble!
7th August 2019 at 10:43 pm #76858Glad all those footballers were advertising road safety, made me much safer when I was driving the car at 10 years old.

That must have been the time your brain stopped functioning properly
7th August 2019 at 10:52 pm #76862So this scholes bloke is deffo Just Basics then. Even the way he is arguing back has exactly the same tone and wording. So we should all just assume that as soon as a new member pops up with a really bizarre discussion point, we can all just assume it’s that nutter again. Haha.
He’s like an ex who keeps popping up and creating fake FB accounts to spy on ya haha.
You should stop tho JB, because if you keep creating fake named accounts nobody will remember the name just basics…
Just joking JB (scholesy)

7th August 2019 at 10:57 pm #76865Now now boys.. we don’t want any more bans do we ?
As for kids growing up around an addictive lifestyle, all kids do these days unless they live in a jungle. TV, consoles, phones, computers/tablets, all technology. I grew up living mostly in skegvegas, meaning yeah.. I probably started my addiction off there at a young age. It doesnt mean to say that kids are going to get addicted off an advert though. I think they have to actually be in the situation to be addicted. I get your point, but this is down to the adult too. I would personally never let my daughter touch lucozade because I know the sugar content is ridiculous.. she’s never even touched cola, not that she’s wanted to anyway.
Going back to football anyway.. I don’t think young young kids should be allowed to go. The things I’ve seen whilst sat on kop in sufc ground and drinking in the sportman has scarred me for life. It’s no place for kids.
7th August 2019 at 11:17 pm #76867You bite harder than Jaws ??
Bet you’re in agreement with Donald Trump that video games play a part in mass shootings too. ?
My brain functions perfectly, that’s why I don’t think that porn and gambling are the same thing. Unlike some retards (I won’t name names) ?
17th August 2019 at 11:20 pm #76868I mean, the team I support are sponsored by a betting firm I’ve never even signed up to. I reckon all the kids that support the club have signed up though. Losing their pocket money 🙁
7th August 2019 at 11:52 pm #76869About 50% of English teams (just a guess) prob have bookie/casino sponsors seven if Rooney had 999 on his back still plastered on the front of the shirt and half of the shirts in the league. Is it you just don’t like Rooney?
This OP has a serious point… One that needs taking extremely serious!!
I am an everton fan, and I can be honest and say that I too……am addicted to angry birds.
Since our sponsorship with the angry birds brand a few years ago, I can’t stop smashing those fucking green pigs on a daily basis. It’s affecting my marriage and career. I haven’t been to work in two weeks because I need to get past level 43 on the space world level. I’ve told my boss I’ve got the shits, but deep down he knows I’m spending my time at home getting high on cartoons with ragdoll physics…..
18th August 2019 at 10:08 am #768768th August 2019 at 10:20 am #76877Sports betting is a massive thing, especially in football why wouldn’t they have a bookie sponsor?
Porn is completely different to gambling, to compare them is nothing shy of moronic
